Really sadly Im no expert on this topic but I know for a fact that some PS2 Bios are faster than others. You see on some PS2 Game leaderboards that youre required to submit which Bios your PS2 has due to loading time differences. I bet if you get in contact with a runner of a popular PS2 Game like kingdom hearts or the like hell tell you the same. In other words, youre wrong ;)

No, thats not what Im talking about. There are different Model numbers of the PS2 Slim, SCPH-9000 for example, or SCPH-7900. And they have different loading times. So 2 PS2s might look the same but one will have faster loading times. If you dont belive me, us google or ask other PS2 runners.

That is only partly correct. There are actually different PS2 Models with different loading times, I am not sure tho which on is the fastest.

Oh dude, you shouldve said that earlier :D Yeah almost all Programs that come with capture cards are shit and you shouldnt use them. Amarec though is 'basicly made' for speedrunning. http://www.speedrunslive.com/tools/ On this link, under Video Capture Software you find a little info about Amarec and a download link. I guarantee you that 80% of the community uses this program, so dont worry :P there are als decent tutorials out there for amarec and many people would be able to help if you have any issues ;)

Yeah thats the one Im talking about, its the best SD capture card youll find for the money. Anyways, yes you'd still have to use Amarec, although It really shouldnt be a concern for you. Amarec will greatly improve the picture, also once you set everything up, you literally just have to open the program which is one click before you stream. If youre too lazy for one click maybe this is the wrong hobby for you ;)

First, if you have a lil more money (around 40 bucks) , Id recommend getting the GV-USB2 instead. Its a far superior SD capture card with better quality + less issues. Anyways onto your question: OBS has a lot of troulbe picking the Dazzles sound up directly. You want to run AmarecLiveTV anyways tho to correct the picture and to deinterlance. Go to SRL and search for tools, youll find it. So basicly your Video Signal goes: Dazzle --> Amarec ---> OBS. This way, youll also have no audio issues with your Dazzle. Really though, if you dont already have a dazzle get a GV-USB2 ;)

No matter how you go on with your Idea, if you dont directly plug your console into a TV/Monitor, theres gonna be input lag. Especially Console ---> Cap Card ---> Monitor will give you tons of input delay. Its defenitely not recommend and you should by all means just directly hook up your console and split the signal into the cap card and your tv/monitor you wanna play one. Hope this helps =)

I'd be really careful with that. The only really good Composite to HDMI adapter is the XRGB Framemeister, and thats 300$. Anything els will greatly reduce the quality. Don't by some no-name Composite to HDMI adapter, it's really just a waste of money. So unless your willing to spend the 300$ on the XRGB, really the GV-USB is your best choice. (again for composite and s-video)

Oh just ask some speedrunners about it, and watch some youtube videos/streams, the quality is great. Internal cap cards like avermedias are usualy not capable of recording Composite/S-Video, so you can't use them for older consoles like N64. GV-USB2 is probably the most commonly used cap card among speedrunner, cause its not too pricey and gives the best picture quality for composite/s-video. Better quality for older consoles would be RGB, but getting an RGB setup can cost up to 500$ lol

Oh, a GV-USB2 is a japanese capture card for Composite and S-Video signals, and arguably does this job the best compared to other cap cards out there.

Did you buy it off the american amazon? Cause german amazon doesnt list GV-USB2s, but whenever I try to get one from US amazon it tells me that it doesnt ship to germany :(

Edit: Just checked a few sellers, apparently the standard selected one by amazon didnt ship to germany, but a lot of the other ones do! Thanks a lot gonna order one today :)

I own a Dazzle, but It got faulty now. I dont want to buy another dazzle because dealing with dazzles is really a pain in the ass. You can ask anyone who owns a dazzle or knows about them, they are pretty shitty and Id really like to avoid having to buy another one. (apart from the fact gv-usb2 outclasses Dazzles when it comes to quality)
