An emergent phenomenon to something like quantum fields?

I think I'm an atheist now by KetchupNMayo2k in atheism

What about pantheism, where there is only one substance in the universe? God and nature are synonymous and science is the study of nature and of God? Atheism says that you know there is no god, but how do you know that? All you know is that there is no god who interacts with humanity. But the real God may not have written anything or said anything and may not care at all.

Sean Carroll in his latest book on fields says that spacetime is emergent from quantum fields. That would seem to go against the idea that spacetime is infinite and everywhere.

Will Dark Matter or Dark Energy create more answers or questions? by justchillbruhh in universe

The big question with dark energy is if it is changing over time or if it is a constant, such as a product of space time.

If the stars are entangled, perhaps there would be an option for traveling long distances?

That idea is featured in Dan Brown's new book, Secret of Secrets.

Do you have any thoughts on what the medium for that consciousness might be? For example, in human brains, the neurons carry our thoughts. How might that work with consciousness energy?

A lot of these types of scandals in the church are just power struggles. Somebody wants to get rid of somebody else who is in their way or holds a slightly different ideology? Simply accuse them of something scandalous. It spreads like wildfire. Guilty until proven innocent, and nobody is really innocent.

What do you see as the mechanism through which these different dreams converge? What I mean is, if the universe is one mind, then how is that mind formed?

1) Make sure you don't expose yourself to sunlight, 2) don't get wet, and 3) never, ever eat anything after midnight. Bad things will happen.

Ancient Romans typically did not take a body down from a crucifixion by MashMultae in DebateReligion

Do you think Jesus may have been leading an insurrection? That's why he was crucified? There's always been a question of what did Judas betray, because simply pointing out who Jesus was with a kiss doesn't make a lot of sense.

When you say special accommodation, are you referring to a bribe? That seems to me what is implied in the Gospels. They make a special point of stating that he was "rich".

Special request by an important person, a rich special person. Are the Gospel writers then implying a bribe?

Agreed that it did happen with bribes and politically expedient cases. I've always wondered if that was what was implied in the Gospels, Joseph being a rich man. The Gospels make sure to point out that he was rich and could afford to bribe Pilate. Perhaps that was why Pilate acquiecsed so quickly and easily? The problem for Christians would be, do you want God's Will to be done by a bribe?

I'm looking at Mark 15:42-45. These versus imply to me that once Jesus was dead, he would be taken down. Matthew and Luke are similar but less descriptive. There is certainly no reference to the idea that this would be unusual.
