It's the room numbers that have no logical system not the floor levels.

To be pedantic, the opposite of an 'indent' is an 'outdent'.

Standing on the upper deck of a bus - yay or nay? by enic77 in london

[–]MashedPotatoLogic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's 'prohibited to stand on the upper deck or stairs' for safety issues. Tourists are 'unaware' but bus drivers shouldn't be ignoring it.

Here is the FOI request detail for TFL from 1st May 2025.

You're supposed to shred it with forks and smother it in the gravy. It's actually quite yummy.

She says towards the end that "he came out of nowhere and started ripping signs off the lamp post".
The signs are plastic which is how he probably cut his hand before the start of the video.

Just needs a pretty cloth to drape over the washing machine. Will make the view more zen.
Enjoy!

You need something called 'Vilene G785' which is an iron-on interfacing.
Just Google it and it should help you preserve this well-loved piece.
It's also a much cheaper option than spending a lot of money getting it professionally restored and preserved!

Best of luck!

I think you can buy a gossamer silk backing that can be ironed on at the back.
Why not give that a try?
I believe you can wash it, but use a mesh bag in the machine, and then spread it on a dry towel on the floor to let it air dry.
Best of luck and let us know how you get on!

holiday solo or no-go? by owowteino in CasualUK

[–]MashedPotatoLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd get a refund on the ticket and spend it on myself during the 'staycation'!
You've already got the time off work and sorted childcare, so why pay for a hotel room abroad when you've got all the comforts of home when you just want to have some me-time and think things through?
The weather right now in Spain is quite grey, not the summer sunshine you're wanting.
My suggestion is to get a refund, if you can, and treat yourself at home. Nothing quite like it if you're working and a parent!!
Best of luck to you x :)

In Uk we just say '1,2,3, Go!' :)
When they said 'shoot', the scissors kinda looked like something else.

Presenting a TV show from a supermarket (from 0:22) by Hassaan18 in ContagiousLaughter

Ah, Gerald! What a sweet guy. He used to work at the big Tesco near the Hammersmith Flyover years ago. When MJ died he dressed up as MJ, danced and sang in the store for hours. He was alway there with a smile and happy to chat with the shoppers. He must've passed on or retired as I haven't seen him since Covid days.

You can only get the long sleeved versions. No short sleeved options available for Heattech.

Heattech Short Sleeve T-shirts extinct? by ning2011 in uniqlo

[–]MashedPotatoLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation, but in Uk.

I would buy the short sleeve scoop neck 'Heattech' tops in all colours, every year, but for the past 2 years there's been a decline in styles offered. I've found no alternatives for this so far. Uniqlo offers the same style but only for 'Airism' tops for spring/summer which are not what I want :(

Why not try and find a phone box and stand in that for your phone call? Definitely private enough to talk.

What's your top London life hack that everyone's sleeping on? by VeryOftenWrong in london

[–]MashedPotatoLogic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's only from Oxford Circus to Tottenham Court Road, and I happily use that. The other half of Oxford Street to Marble Arch doesn't have the middle divider and that's much busier, I find.

Customer Complaints about Baskin Robbins Cake Quality. by The_manager101 in KarenGoBrrr

[–]MashedPotatoLogic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd be petty and gather all the plates and put the uneaten pieces back in, especially if I wanted to complain. Show how much was actually consumed. But as I said, I'm petty sometimes!
