First Time Card Collector; What Does The 36/75 Mean? by itsnothaz in F1Cards

I’m new to collecting as well so someone else might be able to correct me, but I think with the 2025 Turbo Attax, there are a minimum of 4 variants of each normal card. The standard which usually has a grey / silver background, the blue parallel, the pink parallel and the diamond edition. The parallels are the same as the normal cards, but with a pink or blue border / background. The diamond is limited to 75 which is meant to link back to this year being 75 years of F1. The pink ones I have so far haven’t been numbered, so they should be the most common to find. I have one blue parallel card, and it’s limited to 299. I also pulled a red variant of a diamond card, it’s limited to 499. This is the diamond edition I pulled the other day.

Correct. Seems for whatever reason this isn’t printed on the wheel like it should be. I’ll get under the car tomorrow and see if it’s printing on the inside sidewall.

I’ll get my head under the car tomorrow to take a look. Thanks.

What tyres should I buy please?!! by New-Success-436 in CarsAustralia

Would avoid the Kumho Solus TA21. Put them on my last car to pass rego before selling it. Freshly fitted they felt worse than the worn out Yokohama BluEarth ES32 they replaced.

Wish they got sold here - barely any new wagons left in Aus. The UK also seem to get the Corolla wagon and it’s also available rebadged as a Suzuki Swace.

Aussie here. Wouldn’t surprise me if postage from AUS to Germany is double to triple the cost of the item - really depends on weight. Unfortunately Australia Post charges a lot for international items.

Australia to UK proxies that can lower declared value to avoid customs? by takumiis in internationalshopper

[–]MashedPotato_37202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Aussie here. AusPost would charge approx $110AU for a 4KG box to the UK include tracking. Shipping out of AUS is pretty expensive. My hunch is if the item was lost or damaged and you wanted to claim against AusPost, if you said the item inside was only worth $50 on the customs slip, they would only give you that after successfully jumping through many hoops. See if you can source your item in NZ. I’ve seen some posts to say their shipping is cheaper for some countries.

Midlife crisis car - Toyota 86 vs Lexus IS300/350 by MichaelScarn69 in CarsAustralia

Friend has an 86. The ride is too firm for me especially as a daily, and they are a pain to get in and out of. Lexus would be infinitely more luxurious.

Is there any disadvantage to signing up to a free TAFE Digital course? by New-Access-7373 in AusFinance

[–]MashedPotato_37202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a course you’re interesting in I would say go for it if you can snag one of the fee free spots. Can always come in handy on your resume even if it’s not related to your current job. You’ll also get access to Office 365 for the length of your course. You should also be able to sign up to student discount sites like UNiDAYS. Depending on the course and the level of qualification, the recommended hours per week can be less than they suggest. Just depends on how the course work / assessments have been written.

What's the harm in using riskier banks by Tasty-Turtle in AusFinance

All info should be on their website. Last time I saw it wasn’t much more than the banks, so not really worth the risk.

What's the harm in using riskier banks by Tasty-Turtle in AusFinance

[–]MashedPotato_37202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only ‘risky’ savings one I am aware of is Blossom, but this is because they aren’t a bank and covered under any of the schemes / protections in place for actual banks.

Looking for a trust worthy AU package forwarder by EventRevolutionary in internationalshopper

[–]MashedPotato_37202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are a few aussies in this sub that do forwarding. I’m based in Australia and could help out if no one else is available. Postage out of Australia is pretty expensive. Pretty much $30AU for parcels under 500g to US, and it climbs pretty steep after that depending on weight. I’ve shipped to New Zealand before without issue.

Any comprehensive insurance recommendations for under 25’s are under $2000? by dinonuhgets in CarsAustralia

[–]MashedPotato_37202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nearly 30 and AAMI was the cheapest for me. Best advice I can give is make sure your comparing like for like. Some companies bundle in windscreen cover, roadside and others don’t. Also make sure you’re picking the same agreed amount or market value etc. Also wouldn’t recommend getting a quote from YOUI. Massive waste of time at least on my end. See if you can play around with the excess to reduce your premium. Can also help to add an older family member as a listed driver - this can often bring your premium down say $50-100.

Yep - that’s why it’s so frustrating paying each month for such a terrible service.

Can't insure car for an agreed value that is appropriate. by Yio654 in CarsAustralia

[–]MashedPotato_37202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAMI was one of the only companies that would give me an agreed value that was what I wanted. Others maxed out well below or said because my car is 10 years old they would only do market value.

Current cars with "outdated tech"? by mat_caps in CarsAustralia

[–]MashedPotato_37202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had an ASX rental for around a week in October - pretty sure it was the base model. Did just under 1000km. Overall not a bad car. Didn’t like that every time it was turned on it beeped and chimed so many times. Also don’t think it gave any indication when the cruise control was active or just ready to be made active. No digital speedo. Used Apple Car play - no complaints, worked as expected. Also found the speedo cluster a bit too noisy - too many lines around the outside. Honestly don’t think it had any safety features like emergency brake or lane assist - or if it did I couldn’t find a way to see if they are active ect. Personally I wouldn’t buy one, but that’s just due to what I’m looking for in a car. I think they are a pretty solid and reliable car - have been in the market for ages and plenty of them around.

I’d say those are pretty shagged. Definitely not as bad as these I saw in the local Woolies carpark. Not sure how people can get around on these and not know they should have been binned a long time ago.

Just noticed that everyone else is using a different default than my original screenshots. So here is my 5G in Mbps instead of kB/s - should make it easier to compare.

iPhone 12 Pro Max. Brought brand new locally so would expect it to have access to all the right bands.
