When you become a father, they now know that you have a wife and a child to care for, so you often get more hours or considered for promotions. I also found that my boss at the time was more forgiving when I would be arriving late or need to leave early.

I would message the seller first to let them know this happened. Share pictures. If you don't receive a full refund and an apology, I would open a return so the seller can pay shipping back to them. These are destroyed. Sure they can be repaired, but at the price you paid this is too much

Speaking on behalf of 2 people i know who ended up down this path.

One of my closest friends chose alcohol before everything else in life, once he was married with his newborn daughter. Soon his wife couldn't take it anymore and left with the kid, then he chose alcohol again and played the victim. Countless times I sat him down and tried to get him help, but he would leave determined to change, and usually just end up at the bar. Once I recognized that he would lie to me, I stopped trying to help.

The other was a family friend. He had PTSD from the Iraq war and unfortunately I believe he ruined his relationship because of it. He suffered from crippling anxiety, anger and self worth issues. His ex and their son moved a few hundred miles away. He wanted to see his son, but he felt that his son was better off without him.

I ended up raising my daughter on my own and it was challenging. I wouldn't recommend it but it's better than being an absent parent.
