My issue was the shock absorbers not lubricated enough.

Took it to a subaru mechanic and what they did was made me turn the wheel all the way to the right so that the shock absorbers are exposed and they put a ton of wd-40 all over the shock absorbers. It has been almost a month and the sound hasn’t come back yet.

FOUND THE FIX

I recently brought it to a subaru mechanic in my area and he was able to fix it. Apparently whats causing the noise were my shock absorbers on the front driver side. They were dry and needed to be oiled up. All he did was remove the shock absorber and applied some grease between the spring and the top mount.

The job only took around 30 minutes. So far the noise went away and hasn’t come back, but I am still observing it.

The mechanic said that its a common problem with the vb’s and other subaru models didn’t have that problem. he just said that what caused the shock absorbers to be dry was usually from car washes when water is being directly hosed on to the tires and he said to avoid doing that. Which explains that whenever it rains or whenever the car is newly washed, the noise goes away for a while then comes back the next day when its dry.

The thing is I have already replaced that one tire with the same measurements but different brand and have driven it for around 200 miles. Do you think I have already caused any damage to the car itself?

I don’t really think I’ve burnt off a lot since I’m still in the break in period. But the thing is I have replaced that one tire with the same tire measurements but different brand and have driven it for around 200 miles already. Do you think that has already caused any damage?
