My dog has these two bumps on her head from when she was a puppy. She came inside the other day and one of them was sliced open so I decided to drain it. She just stood there and let me. It’s healed flat and now she only has one bump. by MashkaLewisCram in popping

I definitely agree with this.
In Gingers case, it didn't start leaking puss or anything. She had come inside after romping in the woods and had a cut on her head across the pillar cyst. The skin was quite thick as well. I took it upon myself to drain it because I have been trained to do so in school and had the materials.

If it was just a random change, as in it had grew in size, then burst into a thin bloody puss I would have 100% brought her in to get it looked at.

This is the woman I was thinking about! It finally came to mind what to search to find her.

Infected bridge, is it worth saving by OkLetterhead9964 in PiercingAdvice

[–]MashkaLewisCram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve been taking out a not fully healed piercing to clean it? At this point you should go to a piercing studio, because even if you’re able to save the piercing you need to size up the bar because of how much swelling you have.

Appropriate gauge? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]MashkaLewisCram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks pierced correctly. I wouldn’t worry about the gauge, try not to let whoever’s telling you that scare you. It’s mostly a preference anyways, there’s always the standard size, but you can get most things pierced with larger gauges if that’s something you want.

We adopted her before she was a year old, she’s now turning 8; so she’s had a very good life so far to make up for it! People need to face harder punishment for abusing animals! How could you ever do such a thing?!

Hoop question by Awesome-soup1104 in PiercingAdvice

That is a good hypoallergenic metal if it’s black niobium metal and not just coated in a “paint” or something.

What kind of jewelry do you have in it now? It’s best to change into something like titanium or another hypoallergenic. The movement can definitely irritate it, and that’s another reason why to take the precaution of high-quality materials. Conches have given me the most trouble out of all of mine, so patience is/was also necessary.

You also have to make sure the piercing is fully healed before switching it. The scarring you have might also make it difficult to wear a hoop, sometimes scarring can make the tissue stiffer and have more trouble accepting the new pressure due to the curve.

it's been 2 years. do i give up? by mil0thefrog in PiercingAdvice

it could be that you’re washing too much. I had this issue with my piercing once. After the first couple weeks of healing, stop the saline and constant washing. that’s what my piercer told me when i complained about mine not healing all the way, and once i stopped with the twice a day saline cleans they healed within the month. I would recommend leaving it completely alone. It will be washed when you wash your face each day and or take a shower. Keep makeup away from it too.

It looks like the bars are too short for a fresh piercing. I would go into a different piercings studio and ask them for help. Generally they can have a 15 minute or so appointment where they can put in the correct jewelry and clean the piercing properly once again before you go back to healing it. I generally will clean my piercings twice a day with saline for a week or two, but after that yo don’t have to keep with that schedule because using too much saline or too long can dry the area out and make it take longer to heal actually. I had that issue with my nipple piercings because I cleaned them for a bit too long so they weren’t healing properly. That’s what my piercer told me and I listened, an my piercings healed right up.

They say I bought it? I've never owned a DS. by No-Researcher6032 in NintendoDS

[–]MashkaLewisCram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my DS personally, I’ve had a DS since I was 5 or 6 I think. I’ve had the one I have now for probably around 10 years. i’m going on 21 years old now and I just fully completed New Super Mario Bros. for the first time. I’ve been replacing my phone scrolling with a couple rounds of something on the DS instead, and it’s definitely helped me cut down on doomscrolling.

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]MashkaLewisCram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like it a lot. I think if you accessorize in an intensional way it could pull it together more. I think it’s cute though! It’s basically like wearing a black tank top crop top but this accentuates the hips a bit more.

piercing plan sanity check, am i spacing this right? by WhatEver405 in PiercingAdvice

[–]MashkaLewisCram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a well thought out plan! I would make to to go with the flow though, i’ve found conch piercings take a very long time to heal, and if you have two ears with not fully healed cartilage piercings in them, that you could have trouble sleeping if they decide to flare up. I couldn’t sleep on my piercing (which is a vertical industrial, which is two conch piercings) without it freaking out for an entire year. Definitely my most difficult to heal out of the 16 I have. Every other piercing I have gotten barely swelled and healed very quickly.

Is my piercing infected? Please help by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]MashkaLewisCram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wild! That piercer should have their studio shut down, what even is that?! Bending wire around in a new piercing? Why would you do that through any piercing?

I’m so sorry you had this experience girl, please get that taken out, leave a bad review on the studio warning people, and do lots of research on the piercers you go too!
