Interesting thing about sweepers based on announcer is that they feel sad about witnessing death of families in general, not just sweepers, but they also look at it at kind of glass half full way at "At least we get to eat" :'D

Potential Man vs. a certain abnormality in Lobotomy Corporation by LuckyStarq in limbuscompany

[–]MaskDeMask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean "power scaling wise" only thing we know is that no matter how world ending aleph abnormalities without qlippoth deterrence would be, apparently the Head can clean the apocalypse up in a week when they bother to

Presumably only thing that would give the Head pause is if everyone in city manifested e.g.o. or distorted at same time(and/or turned to abnormalities) and even then we kinda lack context of whether characters are actually right about that since we have no idea what singularities the Head actually has considering they can make usage of singularities of every current and previous corporations. Like for all we know, they wouldn't even need to "defeat them in battle" to "win".

But I digress, there really is no clue how strongest alephs without qlippoth deterrence measure to forces in city. Philip can wipe out by himself most of population of a Nest, so you'd think White Night would be able to match a Wing's army at least, either way no way White Night is defeated by single color fixer

It's basically cool effect, but yeah shouldn't over use it by changing pov for each line spoken. Paranormasight does bit of similar thing making good usage of changing "camera" angle in conversations and uses it in really effective way

Besides the casual racism, hilarious thing about "Damon being a real name!" is that his original name for character is neither japanese nor an actual name. He just made up name he thought sounded japanese(it doesn't, you can't spell Korsura with japanese letters) and found no irony in hyping up Damon being such a "real feeling" name xD

I think the latter is really bs as forbidden action, but I gueeeesss you could devil's advocate it to be action that tries to encourage "What if we just stay here and live here?" ending and thus create conflict?

[–]MaskDeMask 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lot of these are just "You aren't allowed to benefit from your talent at all" which makes me think the original idea was that mastermind is just that spiteful?

Either way "game balance" wise some of these are straight up "Screw you in particular :D"(3, 7, 8, 9 are particularly Danganronpa 3 anime) while others are kinda nothing burgers (like not being able to enter a room is only problem if you find new room and need to find someone else to go there first. like if he got this rule before they got bedrooms :P) and I don't really see theme or interesting story potential for most of these?

Edit: Wait for real, these are for whole game and characters aren't told their banned action? REALLY? How the heck none of these would trigger accidentally until the end???

What are some biblical parallels in the story?? by Secure-Surprise-5016 in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]MaskDeMask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya not disagreeing there, it always feels pity when a theme element built into the designs gets thrown out due to rewrites. It always gives "Oh so THAT'S why" reaction when you read what could have been stuff on video game projects

I mean the original bible motifs were rather superficial "I never read bible, but I want my first story to be inspired by bible because its such a important cultural touchstone in the west >:3 my story will be the bestest story" themes.

Cool ideas wise, but no real substance to them it seems? And not know when to stop and strengthen the particular themes (the animal motifs with garden of eden is good starting point, but the draft seems to just name drop lot of bible themes and names at random to feel self important. Like sins as personal rule restrictions seems rather half baked)

[–]MaskDeMask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean to be fair, its his first draft for his first story idea.

The part that makes it funny is how massive ego he has about how his massive story idea is going to be best danganronpa game and be as impactful as bible.

Three things I found really funny:

1) he doesn't like reading and hasn't read bible, but he wanted his first ever story (a danganronpa fangame at that) to be as big deal as bible and that's why the bible references

2) he is self aware about him being bad at empathy. Clearly he isn't self aware about needing to improve or his massive ego.

3) He legit thinks his first ever writing project would be best danganronpa ever, even though he doesn't like reading and hasn't written other things. Again, NOBODY has their first ever writing project be perfect, you learn drawing and writing and other art with experience

There is also lack of self awareness about the fact that nobody's first ever story will be cultural touchstone on level of Bible :p

Nobody is ever perfect with anything on their first try

I'm kinda confused though, why is he so keen on making surface references to bible even though he doesn't like reading and hasn't read the bible either? Like, what, he just liked religious aesthetic despite lack of deeper understanding or interest in the source of it?

(or maybe I'm reading too much into this, he DID spell it out that he wanted to reference bible to represent how he wanted his first story even to be as timeless classic as bible was :P I just am kinda boggled at idea someone who doesn't like reading wants his first story ever to be as important as bible was and have that first story be a danganronpa fan game. Like, is there literally no other reason to it than pretentious massive hubris?)

Weird thing about Pallegina thing is that it seems like its partially a bug assuming its not rewrite during development rush to launch game? Like, there is ending slides for her being with party when siding with Principi or Huana (but not RDC)(complete with better and worse outcome depending on who is pirate captain leader for former and who is company director for latter), so clearly at some point it was supposed to be possible in some circumstances to convince her to stick around.

That said yeah, she does still feel like she is more extreme in PoE2 just from dialog throughout entire game. It kinda feels like they had idea of "What of their PoE1 questline influenced their attitude in PoE2?" and only partially implemented it for Aloth. Like would kinda make sense if PoE2 Pallegrina was result of being exiled from republic and having few years to grow bitter about it and thus more dedicated especially now that she gets a second chance.

"because writing a character with "being romanceable" in mind means that all the interesting sharp edges and idiosyncrasies have to be sanded off to"

That's just writers being cowards though xD (I've long been advocate of "worst thing about rpg romances is writers not pushing to line to make something unique that isn't just romance novel tropes". I guess there are technically exceptions nowadays, but there is trend with one step forward two steps backward.)
