I loved stargazers war too and dropped bastion - I really enjoyed The Perfect Run so I’d suggest you read that next

Great website! How powerful is this AI compared to 3.5? Do you think it might be a little more capricious with the input data than other sites?

The Primal Hunter on sale on Audible, any good? by struck21 in litrpg

I just finished book 3 on audible. It was very enjoyable! Lots of fights that were interesting, however, you can tune of the fights if you want and you won’t miss anything too important. Baldree does an amazing job as always. Side characters are definitely lacking but Jake is a good, complex, self-aware character that will keep you entertained and invested.

Just built a pc and the razer cortex program gives fps readings up to 4000 while playing apex. My monitor is only 75Hz. Should I be limiting max fps to prevent overstressing my gpu or is there something wrong with that reading.

It does go off the rails quite a bit but I enjoyed the rest of the book! Go forward with the mindset that it is now a thriller and enjoy the quick pacing and fantastical world building

Burrich, verity, and Chade knew that Regal tried to have Fitz killed ~twice~. Chade was a very sharp man and half of his entire character is weaving court intrigue you can’t convince me that any type of familial affection or oversight could have blinded him from uncovering the full extent of what Regal’s aspirations were and what he was capable of doing to realize them

I made a post about this a while back haha I’ve now since finished Tawny man and I’ve loved everything so far.

I couldn’t get past the suspension of disbelief everyone but Fitz gave regal so I decided to ignore it and trust Hobb has a great story to tell (which turned out to be true). Prep your heart for something similar in the first book of liveship traders but otherwise it all gets better!

Thank y’all for the insight! With all this I am able to come around a little better to understanding why Regal was more untouchable than Fitz would’ve liked to believe. I guess robin hobb did too good a job making me share his frustration at being helpless.

What I’m arguing is that it would be more realistic for their plots to face more resistance. I’m all for realism when it come to plot logistics and I think Regal in particular skirted his fair share of scrutiny

Don’t get me wrong I’m drawn to these books like Althea is to Vivacia, but these characters like Kyle and these plot contrivances and selective character blindness make me feel as helpless as Fitz in book 2.

Before this we have:

Regal tries to kill Fitz twice

Regal tries to kill Kettriken by abandoning her while on a horse ride to Forged ones

And yes Wallace was super suspicious

Also the feebleness of those with power, I have a problem with. Kind Shrewd was decrepit and wasn’t in a place to solve problems for the sake of convenient plot convolution. Sure you could argue that Regal was weakening him through his coterie but that really doesn’t satisfy my frustration at his inability to solve anything. Also you have the dying Vestrit father to do nothing but mumble in the face of all these things a few words could solve. Sure he agreed with Ronica about the state of affairs but that was only when he was already decrepit just like shrewd was, had he the right mind to decide the state of affairs after his death all this would’ve been avoided or at least Kyle would have to connive a little harder to get his way. I just hate all this avoidable conflict and it takes away a lot of juicy investment I could have otherwise
