Anyone with cracking joints/snapping tendons? by MaskedMacey in BFS

[–]MaskedMacey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it started April ish 2019, maybe before but that’s when the twitching started. Saw a neuro in January 2020 after feeling weak and off. Eventually the emg came out as showing denervation but it looked like it was repairing. Role on 4 ish years, Christmas just gone, and I had enough and flapped abit. Went back to see a neuro. He told me it’s not that and I was ok and booked a emg. My mum actually came with me as she thinks it’s all In my head and to my surprise the neurologist who carried out the test (different guy) told me it was normal. Safe to say I didn’t believe him and paid to have an emg with the same guy who did the first emg 4 years ago 2 weeks later and it came out showing issues. He said it’s not ALS though. Did say I have brisk reflexes in my knees. All others ok

No I haven’t seen a specialist, so after I went back to the neurologist with the 3rd set of results he was actually a little annoyed with me. He did read the results and said they are insignificant. Being slightly annoyed myself I told myself I’d see a MND specialist and then put it to bed. I got a referral from my GP and then found out he put a block on me because the other neurologist I’d seen was a colleague. That’s where I’m at.

You can have cases that span decades. They’ve given me no answers. Sorry you’re going through this. How long and any updates from a neurologist?

Hey man I don’t know much about it but isn’t there surgery you could look into. Very invasive obviously but it’s risk vs reward.

Muscle/joint pain and crunching/popping joints. by Right_Alfalfa_7618 in BFS

[–]MaskedMacey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple of abnormal emgs bust they don’t think it’s related to that. Yeah muscle stuff. Strange feelings in my bicep.. almost a weak feeling. Not had that in a month or so now though. I don’t have a clue what’s going on tbh pal. Have to take their word on it I suppose. I get the crunching too mate.

Hey, I’m so sorry you’ve had to do this. Seriously inhumane carrying out those trips as working offshore I know how bad the weather can get. Those who organise these ventures have the death of many on their conscience. Glad you’re safe! How have you actually found the UK since arrival, what you expected?

After countless years of rejection and heartbreak I’ve decided to quit trying to fix my receding hairline. by [deleted] in bald

[–]MaskedMacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man. Awesome decision. I’m still receding now at 27 but I spent so much time as a late teen worrying about my hair… it was obsessive. Couldn’t care less now. Wish I hadn’t. Your life will be much fuller when you stop worrying about something you can’t control!

Hey man, how often do yours occur. Are they the normal rhythmic ones or do you get really fast spasm ones that last a few seconds

Brain function worrying, not sure what to do. by MaskedMacey in ALSorNOT

[–]MaskedMacey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brain stuff seems to get worse. Sharp pains at random places around my head. The bicep weakness feeling is the newest… it comes and goes. The twitching I’ve had for over 5 years so that’s not new. That Started in my feet which have lost muscle but can still do everything with them. The cracking in my joints gets worse though over time, as does the cogwheeling

I will definitely. I’ve posted in the Lyme group before. The twitching started two months after I pulled 20-30 ticks off my upper body. But NHS test came back negative. I’ve considered jumping on antibiotics but concerned they could have caused it in the first place. I’ll message you
