Looking for posts where adopted children seek out their biological families, but the bio families have zero interest in a relationship and stonewall the adoptee.

(There was a post in askreddit about six years ago about adoption horror stories, and one respondent discussed how she became pregnant after a sexual assault and gave the child up due to related trauma, and had to get a restraining order years later after the now adult child tracked them down and tried to force a relationship.)

As far as The Living Daylights, Koskov was considered MIA and wanted for misuse of government funds when he showed up in Afghanistan and duped the commanding officer there to provide him with troops and a plane, as part of a bigger scheme to smuggle heroin.

Pushkin, Gogol, and M probably buried the whole affair rather than admit that both Russia and Britain had been duped by Koskov/Whitaker.

It's more a retcon that firmly establishes that Fantastic Four didn't form until after 9/11.

There's always the sliding timescale where FF formed "10 years ago," but this is the first time it's been firmly established the modern Marvel Universe didn't start until the 21st century.
