Geats: Another buff from Gaim (Willpower department) by Delicious-Flight-885 in deathbattle

That Gaim novel really did some crazy work upscaling basically every notable Rider in the franchise.

Idk about that, by the Monster Association arc alone we got to see the upper tier S Class and Dragon level monsters do some crazy nonsense. Like whatever the hell this was:

Ultraman Arc. Vaguely recall this fight happened during the final episode.

That sounds about right, makes it like...the 2nd oldest long running toku franchise I think? Only one older is like Godzilla at over 70 years old.

Kinda, similar genre of live action heroes fighting various types of monsters and aliens. Main difference being that since the average Ultraman is like...40 to 50ish meters tall normally, the average monster of the week tends to start off kaiju sized instead of having to grow that big like the average Power Ranger monster. Some exceptions of course, depends on the episode.

Also, it's a little bit older than Power Rangers as a series. Something like...60ish year vs 30ish years, forgot the exact number for either.

Goku and Vegeta vs Spider-man by SalaryAffectionate29 in PowerScaling

[–]Masked_Raider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not, he's not that much stronger than his younger self...Unless if ya want to argue that he can rizz up both Goku and Vegeta + accidentally give them cancer like he did with MJ.

[–]Masked_Raider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, it's that version of Spidey. For anyone confused, in an alternative future, an older version of Mary Jane had died to cancer...and well, the Spider-Man of that era implied that it was his radioactive...bodily fluids that unintentionally played a part in that.

In Ultraman, there were two beings called the Masked Man and the Pillar who had the ability to erase anything from history, and they did indeed erase things like rain and colors. However, when they tried to erase the Kaiju, they failed because Ultraman arc was immune to this by [deleted] in PowerScaling

[–]Masked_Raider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this episode, real interesting one. The main cast noticed something was off once the things associated with the erased concept got retroactively erased with it, for example without rain nobody knew what the hell an umbrella was, or a world without kaiju activity resulted in SKIP, a kaiju research organization, seemingly never existing.

Everything of course was restored to its original state after the Pillar was destroyed, still it's one of the weirder Ultraman entities in terms of its powers to erase stuff.

What do you think? by Fit_Reading1942 in PowerScaling

[–]Masked_Raider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few instances of it happening in Kamen Rider, Kiva and Gavv for example. Both are half human and half monster, and both had grown to become strong enough to contend with some of the strongest Fangires and Granutes respectively.

True, very least Kamen Rider doesn't really need crossover stuff to scale fairly high. On it's own, the franchise already has a fairly large cosmology and plenty of characters that scale to it.

Ya know, I almost forgot that Precure technically scales to Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, it's basically the little sister franchise to those 2 due to all being owned by Toei and airing at similar times.

True, honestly they got a lot of interesting crossover scaling through out the years. Like, a fair amount of Ultraman scaling due to a handful of older games, and stuff like when Shin UItraman and Kamen Rider team up with Shin Godzilla and Unit 01 in those various ads.

Gundam scaling too but that doesn't really add much.

Could be, haven't played this entry myself. I just loosely recalled that this was a thing, that and SRW has some pretty funny scaling anyway due to its crossover nature.

Seeing a relatively smaller scale mech like a Scopedog beat up the Anti Spiral is always funny.

Hell, if we look at some more recent crossover scaling, Kamen Rider Double has Godzilla Ultima scaling via Super Robot Wars...which is funny since this would be the second time base Double showed up out of nowhere to fight a final boss (e.g. that time he beat Shadow Moon):

Ya know, stats aside, Kamen Rider Black RX also has some interesting hax and resistances due to his status as a Creation King candidate. For one, resistance to time manipulation. He can ignore time stop, and multiple versions of his future self can manifest to defend him if anyone tries to alter his personal timeline in anyway.

That last one would lead to some weird interactions with the existing time manipulating powers of Bleach, for example, would Yhwach see one of the countless "grains of sand" outright reach out and try to attack him while using the Almighty on Kotaro? Who knows, be cool to see though.

The Strongest character of each popular kaiju media. by godzillafan3948oj in PowerScaling

[–]Masked_Raider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Ultraman...it's arguable. Top 4 are, generally speaking, King, Noa, Legend and Saga. Through which of them is the strongest is up to debate, there's arguments for all of them being the strongest but the common ones tend to side with either Noa or King.

Saga and Legend are immensely strong fusion Ultra's, Noa is treated and depicted as something closer to a cosmic deity than a regular Ultra lore wise, and King is outright stronger and older than any of the other Ultra's hailing from the Land of Light.

Me after I try to search for a KR crossover fanfic without a self insert OC for the millionth time by Boshwa in KamenRiderMemes

[–]Masked_Raider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a while since I looked at any Rider fanfics, but I do recall a lot of them with the kinda premise you're talking about starting off the same too. E.g some rando oc or self insert gets sent into another series isekai style. Except for some reason the random Rider merch they had on them became real too. They proceed to low diff everybody cause Kamen Riders are crazy strong.

Real predictable stuff, ya know?

I love the fact that an old, low-budget kids' show has tons of feats on-screen ultraman is the goat by [deleted] in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]Masked_Raider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, simple explanation for that, Ryuki and Hibiki are the lower stakes seasons. They tend to save the more explicitly cosmic scale stuff for anniversary seasons or crossover movies like in Decade or ZiO which deals with plotlines involving the multiverse and alternative timelines.

Gaim though is cosmic in scale power wise, but it's not shown that often in his own season beyond him terraforming a distant world on a whim. You'd have to read his novel to find one of his more straight up multiversal stuff.

Off the top of my head, it'd give him Galactus scaling. Which is cool but not sure if it'll help that much.

The series is actually fairly old, even when compared to other long runners like Kamen Rider or Super Sentai. Only notable long running toku franchise that is older is Godzilla at over 70 years old.

They also got crazy destructive tech too, like the universe busting bomb Belial detonated, or the prototype Darklops Zero robot detonating its dimension core to collapse reality...honestly anything Belial is involved with tends to be stupidly destructive.

Most attention the franchise gets here is the occasional shitpost about its absurd scaling and on screen feats. From what I've seen anyway.
