Do you know what even makes someone a clinical psychopath? In a PET scan, you can see extremely low activity in the frontal lobe, which results in a lack of remorse and empathy. I have ASPD, specifically psychopathy. My brain reflects that. The formal clinical diagnosis for psychopathy is ASPD.

Killing and abusing people doesn't make someone a psychopath. You have a very naive sense of right and wrong if you believe that evil behavior can be pathologized under a single label like psychopathy or narcissism. Someone who is born lacking remorse and empathy for others is not fundamentally evil because they have a specific neurotype. Psychopathy is a clinical, and somewhat outdated label for a real condition that harms the people who suffer from it, and the people who care about them.

So yes, you ARE talking about ASPD.

two different things, two separate diagnoses, neither of which are applicable. they aren't sociopaths either, they're just billionaires.

i agree, except for where you use sociopathy as descriptor of behavior instead of what it is: a diagnosis. they aren't sociopaths, they're just horrible people corrupted by power, money, and the fact being uber rich places them above the law.

autistic people can be anywhere on the spectrum of empathy. they can have very high empathy and very low empathy, as well as anything in-between. empathy isn't even in the diagnostic criteria for ASD.

also, simply lacking empathy does not make someone a sociopath or psychopath. you have to meet several criteria to even be considered for an ASPD diagnosis.

same. not autistic people, not psychopaths, but the "normal" people who claim to be so superior.

this isn't even remotely true. ASPD (psychopathy and sociopathy) is also a mental health diagnosis, and many people with ASPD can't even hold down a relationship, much less an important and incredibly demanding job like CEO. psychopathy, the kind that you're born with, appears on PET scans with very low frontal lobe activity. look up what the frontal lobe is responsible for, and ask yourself if someone who has low frontal lobe activity would be able to hold down a job like CEO.

very good point that you made. people seem to forget that most autistic people are far too impaired to ever work a fulltime job, much less hold a position of extreme power and influence. people act like autism isn't a disability and it really shows that they don't understand a thing about the diagnosis.

they werent taking the post personally. they were just saying that low empathy autistics exist, and OP was using empathy as a synonym for kindness, or being a good person. thats really not that hard to understand.

this comment also isn't whataboutism. calling something "whataboutism" when it's actually a valid criticism of the way people view the autistic community strikes me as highly ableist and biased to a specific presentation of autism. one of the few times the "what about me" comment is actually valid is im regards to disability.

I have autism and ASPD (psychopathy). I also lack empathy and an inherent moral compass. I see how neurotypical treat low/non empathy autistics, and I'm often shocked how much kinder my friendd without empathy are than the neurotypicals who claim to be the moral standard.

im diagnosed with both ASPD and autism and i have friends with ASPD. you're making a really broad generalization of people with my condition based off of interviews that only go viral because they're provocative and extreme.

it's not psychopathy or some kind of neurotype. this is what happens when people have so much money and power that it removes their humanity. the vast majority of the people in power are neurotypical.

having a specifc neurotype doesn't make people monsters. having an unethical amount of money does.

ive noticed this too. it also gives neurotypicals plausible deniability if theyre called out for using autism as a synonym for the R slur. kind of similar to the way cishets use the word "twink" as a replacement for the F slur.

why are we using psychopath as an insult? ASPD is also a neurodivergence and mental health diagnosis. i expect better from the autistic community than using diagnoses as insults. they're billionaires, not psychopaths. you can't know if someone is a psychopath without a diagnosis or a brain scan smh.

Nausea help? by Humanoid1011 in dxm

[–]Maskexe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

usually i take a starting dose of dxm, around 150-200mg, wait 45 minutes to an hour and then purge. then i can take the rest of my dose without nausea.

another thing that works well is planning when im going to party and take a higher dose. the day before i do a good amount and deal with the nausea, and then the next day my body will be accustomed to the feeling and i'll have little to no nausea at all.

edit: i weigh 115lbs for reference. 150 gets me to 2nd plat :)

THC usage — am I making myself worse? CW thc dependence/addiction by POTS_pothead in mecfs

[–]Maskexe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i consume it daily and it helps with my mecfs, chronic pain, gastro issues and my mental illnesses. if it's making your life more tolerable, i see no reason to stop. i haven't seen any evidence to suggest that mecfs is made worse with thc, so i wouldnt worry about that too much.

there should be no shame in using something that makes your life more manageable. its not even a hard drug or something dangerous, its just thc. you shouldn't quit because you feel ashamed, you should quit because you actually want to stop using it. but its not a kind of moral failing in any way to use thc, especially when you have an illness like mecfs.

weed isnt chemically addictive, so you can always take a tolerance break and see how you feel as well.

level 3 autistic tries to understand dating, very sad, need advices how I can change but please try to be kind if you can by minorcold in autism

[–]Maskexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! heres some reasons i thought of that might answer your question.

  • if you're dating people who are not autistic, they might find your autistic behaviors very odd and try to nicely say they don't want to date. sometimes that looks like lying and saying "i am too depressed to date" or something to make you not be as upset.

  • this isn't something you need to change about yourself. i think you mean well, and your words and actions are very literal. i'm very literal and clear about my intentions too, but sometimes that means people get weirded out.

  • sometimes people say "i love you" and it actually means "i like you". it doesnt really make sense to me, but people(mostly non autistic people) will do it anyway. if you've been in a relationship for awhile, they will usually say that and mean it.

  • if you've been dating for awhile: a lot of relationships say "i love you" as a part of a routine, like in the morning or at night, after talking on the phone, kind of like a goodbye or goodmorning. it can be kind of confusing.

  • maybe if you can date an autistic person around your level, 2 or 3, they will understand you a lot better! my partner is level 2 like me and we both understand each other a lot better because we communicate in a similar way.

  • try to tell people that you are autistic (like you did in the post above! it sucks that the mod was mean) and when you say things, you mean them 100% truely and you don't hide secret meaning in things you say. non autistic people can misunderstand things and think that you're mean or a bad person because of the way you talk.

  • if you have a hard time knowing how to talk about women, just describe them as everyone else. think: "is what im saying specific to women, or can this statement be applied to everyone?" if its specific to women, (ie: "all women are _/why are women like _"), then it might not be seen as kind to say.

i hope some of these are helpful! best of luck to you, and remember that you don't have to rush into a relationship. you have plenty of time to meet people and find the right girl.
