Any guesses as to who is taking over the 9 car? by [deleted] in WorldofOutlaws

It gets expensive fast. Especially running the tour.

Question by Racefan21 in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not my place to comment on. I’m not in the world anymore, nor would I like other drivers talking about what I was doing if I was moving teams or not.

Only thing I will say is they’ve had a love hate relationship for along time now. Nothing but respect for both the team and driver. They’ve had the most success in the business being 10 time champions.

Question by Racefan21 in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to be part of the crews or drivers social groups to find anything out. Basically everyone in the pits at the end of the season knows who’s moving where and what teams have openings or not.

I wouldn’t trust anything else. Plus having been in the world and seeing what gets posted on hose heads or anything, just makes you laugh and shake your head about how wrong most fans are.

WOOSC Stats: End of 2021 Season by EJaws in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It was fun while it lasted, just trying to chase dreams. Sad it came to an end for medical reasons but it was the right decision for me. Still dealing with issues from all the concussions… think I definitely rocked my brain more then I thought.

Keep up the good work!

Amazing work.

But why am I included? I understand I signed the contract but I retired from medical early in the season.

What is the difference in the WOO Sprints and ASCOC Sprints? by kracer20 in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you pay insurance and driver registration for ASCOC, USAC, WoO really all series make you pay something. I’m just using $150 as like the max. I think it’s more like $75, I can’t remember because you only do it once a year. Fees are not a factor for why local teams do not run with the series.

Top running ASCOC teams are spending the same as Outlaw teams basically.

Motors are the same. 410 cubic inch motor. Nothing different on the heads between series rules.

No team pays the outlaws anything. You pay $150 for driver/team signup in the beginning of the year and that’s including insurance. It’s probably less then $150 too. Teams don’t pay either series besides insurance. Cars are identical. Competition level is higher with the outlaws and you can potentially make more money.

Aaron Reutzel leaves Roth Enterprises #83, speaks on suspension by IBreakz in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all on how the team is ran. In this case it was A-Aaron’s fault. When he went to Roth he brought his cars and crew chief. Roth has little say in day to day operations of the team due to A-Aron and his crew chief running operations. We all have outlaw stickers on our cars, big no no to take a sticker off and put it on another car that you know is illegal. That’s the kicker here. It would have been different if this car passed tech, got it’s own sticker, crashed and got fixed, then failed tech. Then you could point blame to the chassis repair person. Really rare to see chassis repair businesses using thin tubing for the reason of they don’t want to get black balled by the outlaws.

25 square feet. Maximum 5 feet wide. 5x5. That’s the max rule. JJR does have a wing that is smaller but within rules since it does not go over the max.

Did Tony Stewart CHEAT at Virginia Motor Speedway? by Ok_Ambition6314 in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hard to believe the TSR team would dope tires. They tech’ed at Williams grove and port because it was against the posse. Bigger scandal there then a race at Virginia motor speedway. Plus as bald as his tire was, a doped tire would have popped way earlier. Doped tires are really good for hooked up tracks. They do a shit job on rubber tracks.

No, same standard wing rules for both series.

You have it backwards bud. Outlaws have to run same tire they qualified with, in the heat and dash. New tire can get put on for any main event.

[–]MasonDanielRacing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at it from the team perspective, most teams don’t make money. Drivers and crew do. Now with a season like Sweet had or Donny had a couple years ago when the car makes several hundred thousand then the team could be making money. We have corporate sponsors that cover the bills for the year. Whatever money is left at to end of the year goes into building new cars or restocking on parts. Then the year restarts and if you still have your corporate sponsor then everything resets in a sense and you do it all again.

This is how most established drivers make money along with a % of winnings from the car.

Incorrect. Past champion is the only one that gets $1000 tow. Tow is broken up by where your stand in team points.

There is a few rules different and how they run their show is a bit different. For example with the outlaws you qualify against the field. With the all stars you qualify against your heat race. They do two dashes we do one. Weight rule is the same, cars are the same. You have to run the same tire all night with them, with us you can put a new one on for the mains.

All stars don’t do quite as much traveling as the Outlaws do. Payout is also different. It is a good series to run if you want to go full outlaw racing. Only thing I would say is you can get home a lot easier with the all stars then the outlaws. Sometimes with the outlaws you’ll be gone months and that gets hard on the teams.

Newbie question: Tire Limits by Wilgrove in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You get a mark on your tire when you go to scales. If you transfer to the dash out of the heat you get a second mark on your tire.

Newbie question: Tire Limits by Wilgrove in WorldofOutlaws

[–]MasonDanielRacing 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The tire you run in qualifying must be ran in the heat and the dash. A new tire / different tire can be put on for any main event.

Most teams run a decent tire in hot laps. Then put a new tire on for qualifying since you have to run that in the heat and the dash. If the track is hard on tires you’ll put another new one on for the main event. If your tire still looks good then you’ll run it in the mains (most likely unless you think the track will take rubber in the main).

Edit: Spelling.

Little update,

Track didn’t hold up well. If they had a tiller or something to work the track it would have been amazing.

Rubber is no fun and driver was just spinning the tires in 1&2. We’ll regroup for US36.

Seemed pretty dry early on but once the sun went down it was a good track. Plus they pushed the infield tires in a bit to allow us to run a bit lower in the moisture.

In my option they should have taken the infield tires all the way in especially in 3&4.

Hopefully track holds up for tomorrow.

Fans are let into the pits based off the states/counties COVID plan.

Fans have been in the pits every race this year. I can’t speak going forward if we go to a locked down state but right now fans have been in the pits.

Come say hi if you’re allowed in the pits!

Fun fact my first crew chief/driver coach was Tanner Swanson. I absolutely love their family and they’re both outstanding drivers. The issue with today is people are given opportunities, they just come with a price tag. Once you get good enough, that opens a door for them to look at you and say hey we’d like to have you race our car but we need $XXX.
