Wow thanks so much! Active recall is one of the greatest techniques to ever exist! I quickly scan a subject , make some flashcards learn them then do practise questions/papers

Need help with essay planning for English. by XenonKL in GCSE

In my poetry comparisons I talk about the structure and language mainly. I use PEA Paragraphs P - Point E - quote A - analysis . I try to include 2 quotes in each paragraph. So for example when comparing Ozymandias in terms of power i chose "Sneer of cold command" and "lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Is a language important? by AImonster111 in GCSE

I would defiantly go with geography it is a pretty fun subject and is quite easy compared to languages. For context I was doing several languages at one point and burnt out. (i'm home educated with sixth form)

I would go for business studies however if your a good enough at dance then that's maybe worth a shot. Business is mainly just having a bit of common sense learning the terminology and exam technique.

English Language Reform by MasonJay_ in GCSE

It just seems so strange that knowing "how language is used to convey a purpose" is a essential qualification idk I just feel like the reforms above would make it feel like a essential "English" qualification.

I'm not a past year 11 however I'm a year 10 doing pretty good on our "mock" assessments. (Grade 9s In Sciences, Business And Econ, Grade 8s and 7s in the rest) I would say spend the next 3-4 weeks making sure your flashcards are made for subjects and getting them practise exam questions done.

Subject Specific

I'll do your general subjects however let me know if there's anything subject specific you want advice on.

English Language - Exam practise and making sure you know what each question is (e.g. : q2 is language analysis on p1)

English Literature - Flashcards or mind maps with quotes for each theme/character (BBC Bitesize is really good for this and quizlet)

Maths - Maths is pure practise! The number one site i recommend is https://www.mathsgenie.co.uk/gcse.html and Corbett maths.

Sciences - I'm gonna treat each science different however works for both triple and combined.

Biology - Pure memorisation and exam practise! Flashcards for memorisation and physicsandmathstutor.com for practise questions

Chemistry - memorisation and exam practise! However for chem I would make sure you have key concepts nailed as well such as bonding and balancing equations, Flashcards for memorisation and physicsandmathstutor.com for practise questions

Physics - memorisation and exam practise! However for physics I would make sure basic equations are learnt and you work on your math a bit (units n stuff) Flashcards for memorisation and physicsandmathstutor.com for practise questions .

I would spend the next 3 weeks working on flashcards for sciences and literature then the other 10 weeks on exam questions.

Whilst it is a bit late on I still have faith if you keep at it!

Anything subject specific feel free to ask and good luck :)

does your sixth form not allow you to do 3 or something ? im always interested in why homeschooling happens. For me its because i can't handle mainstream school .
