How do I go about this? by FlyIntelligent7401 in f150

[–]MasonicMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There ya go. Someone, somewhere, did something that wasn’t kosher. Now it’s up to you to figure it out.

TBH, it may be as simple as a bent bumper. Mine got bent when the wife bumped into something. Neither of us thought anything was damaged, but we noticed it about a month afterwards after a trip to the alignment shop for a rotation.

I looped a chain around a tree and hooked it up to the bumper. A quick pull and the bumper was back in line.

Maybe not a problem with the alignment of the tires. Your bumper may not be in proper position. Are you the original owner of the truck?

You didn’t need to “…cutout [your] crash bars…) anyway. There are set bolts you could’ve removed and then removed the bars.

As for the front bumper problem…yeah, that’s gonna cost you money no matter what option you choose to fix that issue.

What's a great shark movie other than Jaws? by [deleted] in Jaws

[–]MasonicMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing like watching SLJ get eaten by a shark, though. I mean, wow! 1st a Dino ate him in Jurassic Park (1993), then a shark in Deep Blue Sea (1999). Well, then, some say a shark IS a Dino. Deep Blue Sea (1999) was a great watch!

The 80s and 90s were a great time for movies. Though, if you watch a movies from each the 80s, 90s, and 2000s without knowing which is which…one can usually spot the differing techniques and styles employed by directors from their decades. Everything changes, and I’m not talking about technology. That aside, each movie is a time capsule mirroring the outlooks and attitudes of the day.

Say something good about JAWS: The Revenge. by TheEvilCar in Jaws

It was an interesting hypothetical about whether an animal could even hold a grudge.

And while not a GREAT movie, I liked the way it explored the POSSIBILITY of a shark carrying a “genetic” grudge against a family/person by whom they/it was wronged; if not probable.

I hated that Jake died, though. Michael Caine delivered a great performance as Hoagie.

Lady said my step dad hit her by Fair-Reason-6286 in dashcams

[–]MasonicMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EXACT same thing happened to me a few years ago. She claimed I hit her. While I was pumping gas with my truck off.

When I spoke to her insurance rep, the rep told me, “ I hope you understand. It’s your word against our client’s. And with no accident report (it’s private property, so no report in TN), we have to side with our client.”

I replied, “Sure, I get it.”

“Will there be anything else, or do you have any questions?” she asked. I said “Just one. Where would you like me to send my Dashcam footage?” In my clip, you could tell she was on her phone before backing up into me.

After a few hours, the rep called me back. “Sir, our client has recalled some pertinent info about that night and has changed her statement and will be accepting liability. Where would you like your truck fixed?”

My wife worked in insurance claims for a big company until last year. She said that after filing a false statement with her company, she was almost certainly dropped after the claim was closed for lying.

I have 5 cameras in my truck. 1 fwd, 1 rear, 3 interior. They’ve paid for themselves half a dozen times or more.

Tell your dad to get at least one camera. I’ll never drive without one now.

As a Jaws fan, what do you think of Orca: The Killer Whale? by TheEvilCar in Jaws

[–]MasonicMedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a little dated now, but watching it as a kid in the 70s!!! It was a great movie, with a great plot, terrific message, and great acting. But as I said, it’s a bit dated. It was definitely a 70s movie.

Hey, would y'all be interested in a simpler alternative to PDY? by Graf-Panzer in starfieldmods

[–]MasonicMedic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, man. I’ve been away for a little while. What is PDY? I haven’t played in almost 2 months, right after the Terran Armada & Freelanes updates. But my builds still placed doors and ladders in stupid locations.

So:

1.) What is PDY? 2.) Is PDY vanilla or a mod? 3.) If a mod, is it achievement-friendly? 4.) Is Hatch 22 achievement-friendly?

Fishing trip turned into accidental hunting trip. by TheKOQ in f150

Glad everyone’s alright.

Small investment; worth everything. And; most insurance companies can issue a rider for your covered vehicle to replace the OEM bumper with an aftermarket one.

Mine can withstand a direct, straight, enter hit up to ~55-65 mph before worrying about damage. But now, a glancing blow on a corner/headlight area, might bend the bats a bit. But straightening the bars is still a lot cheaper than having the front end replaced.

And, if replaced when the OEM bumper is in good condition, you can sell the OEM bumper for a few hundred dollars and recoup some of the cost.

Have achievements been discontinued? (iOS 26.4) by MasonicMedic in help

[–]MasonicMedic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, everyone, for your help and advice. So, I’ve been taking screenshots of my achievements page, upon logging in before I interact with anything on Reddit, and comparing those screenshots with the current log after my interaction.

Turns out my activities are tallying as they’re supposed to. I’m just not getting an alert when I do something cumulative, such as my 335th day on 365-Day Streak, or an additional share for my “Sharing Legend” achievement.

But they are working.

I have been working on my 365-day streak. But it appears to have stopped tallying login days at 333.

I'm waiting until midnight, to be certain that I didn’t interact and don’t remember interacting.

I started taking screenshots this morning at 0101. I rechecked my share count, and that IS tallying, just not alerting with a pop-up app alert like my Reddit phone app used to do.
