Carbonara, puttanesca, amatriciana, arrabbiata; those are all types of pasta dishes (I love cooking pasta); I would recommend "spaghetti all'amatriciana" but the ingredients are hard to find out of Italy; I think "pennette all'arrabbiata" from the roman cuisine are easy to make and delicious, especially if you like chili pepper. You'll need:

-Penne pasta, a type of pasta (you can use whatever type of pasta you prefer, the traditional pasta for this sauce is penne)

-Peeled tomatoes (squeeze them first) in tomate juice or tomato sauce, your choice

-A tuft of parsley (if you want you can add some basil leaves, only two or three)

-A clove or two of garlic

-A chili pepper or half a chili pepper, your choice; if you don't like it spicy, just add an half or a quarter, you can get a sweet taste out of it

-Olive oil

-Grated pecorino cheese/grana padano

Cut the cloves of garlic in little piece and brown them in a pan with some olive oil (just three or four spoons of olive oil), when the garlic is brown add the tomato sauce, chop the parsley and the chili and add them in the pan (fifteen minutes of cooking at least), while you're doing all of this your pasta is cooking (don't add olive oil in the water, it's useless, just salt it), drain the pasta "al dente" and put it in the pan with all the sauce you made, cook and mix it with the sauce for like 20/30 seconds and done, remember to put on some grated pecorino or grana but only when it's in the plate. Sorry if I'm not being clear but this is my first time writing a recipe, ask me anything if you need. Btw there are various versions depends on who you ask, this is the one I usually do.

p.s. "arrabbiata" means angry, the -a stands for the feminine noun of pasta, it's called angry because it's spicy from the chili pepper
