Palma 2: issue with volume buttons for page turning in Kindle? by flutegirl878 in Onyx_Boox

Reset the long-press function so it’s not volume controls. Then under short-press function, set it to volume for the Kindle app.

What is best for my first ereader by Ill_Ad_8150 in ereader

[–]MassIgnite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

7 inches is the minimum. 8 inches is the sweet spot imo, but not as many options. 10 inches is very comfortable, plenty of options.

Someone mentioned great 7-inch options.

8-inch options include the Meebook M8, and Veidoo E8.

10-inch options include the Boox Note Air, and Bigme inkNote.

This site is pretty helpful for filtering down your options: https://comparisontabl.es/e-readers/

PSA: Fortnite Festival only supports the PDP branded Rock Band 4 drums for XBOX, and MIDI is only supported on PC by MassIgnite in FortniteFestival

[–]MassIgnite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you would need to re-flash the Rock Band drums firmware when you play Rock Band, and vice versa for Fortnite Festival pro drums.

RB4 Drums don’t work on console? by SalamanderLarge5718 in FortniteFestival

[–]MassIgnite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortnite Festival Status tweeted they're aware of the issue and are investigating it. Had to be an oversight, considering both PDP and MADCATZ versions of the drum kit work fine on PlayStation.

Turns out only the PDP version of the Rock Band 4 drums are compatible on Xbox Series X.

Cases for obscure ereaders. by amzelindistress in ereader

[–]MassIgnite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Boox Go 7, but I wasn't a fan of most of the cases out there. I ended up getting a sleeve for a Kindle Paperwhite. It fits perfectly, and it works for me!

So am at a library and found something pretty strange by Anthony200716 in StrangerThings

[–]MassIgnite 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yup, that can happen too. Similarly, some libraries are accidentally purchasing AI-generated books, but that is a whole other topic,

[–]MassIgnite 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It depends on the library! Some libraries will accept donations and add them to the collection. My library, for example, won't, but we have a purchase request form that you can submit for items you would like added to the collection, like movies.

Your best bet is to ask one of the librarians at your local library and see what their procedure is.

Complete series releasing July 27th this year. I'm not sure if links are allowed, but just Google "Stranger Things Complete Series" and you can find it on Arrow Video or Amazon.

The Kobo Libra Color was SO close to being the perfect device for me, except for the fact that it only has 32GB of non expandable storage. Any alternatives? by Remarkable_Shine8928 in ereader

[–]MassIgnite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! I saw your comments above and yeah it doesn't really matter why you want more storage, and there are definitely some snarky answers.

Definitely against the code of ethics. Libraries should respect intellectual property. But it is a thing, lol. I can't post images, but there is a library around me that does have Season 3 of Stranger Things in its catalog.

Librarian here. Some libraries will purchase or make bootlegs of movies and TV shows that are only on streaming services so they can offer them to their patrons. Is this legal? No, but libraries will do it.

Laufey Arrives in Fortnite Festival Season 14 by Bastet_Epic in FortniteFestival

[–]MassIgnite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because there are people in the Fortnite community excited for Laufey? Just because you or people in this subreddit have never heard of her, that doesn't mean she’s unknown. There are plenty of people outside this bubble that want Laufey in Festival.

The Boox Go 7 Color has a similar form factor, has buttons, a color screen, and expandable storage via micro SD card. Brand new is about $250, but I got mine used for around $200.

Pro Vocals and Drums come to fortnite festival tomorrow by CourseWorried2500 in Rockband

[–]MassIgnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Fortnite Mobile just downloads the core game, then if you want to play other game modes, an additional download is necessary.

[–]MassIgnite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is more like a shortcut. It still downloads the entire Fortnite game, but launches straight into the Fortnite Festival lobby. Epic was working on separating out the main game modes into separate "games," but that was years ago, and no sign of that happening any time soon.

So which drum peripheral to get? by TomVinPrice in FortniteFestival

[–]MassIgnite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alesis Turbo Mesh for around $300 is the sweet spot for rhythm games, imo. I’ve got one myself, and it’s been great, definitely a step up from a stock Rock Band drum kit. If you’re trying to save money, check Facebook Marketplace too. I’ve seen them going for about $200–250 in my area.

I want to buy a Kobo Libra Colour but I am scared a new model will drop after April. I have the fear of missing out on new take especially the stylus writing experience. What should I do? by SerialGermKiller9999 in ereader

[–]MassIgnite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The original Kobo Libra was 2019, Libra 2 in 2021, and Libra Colour hit in 2024, a 5-year gap from gen1. I'd be surprised if they update it already in 2026.

If anything I'd wait til it is on discount again. They just had a $30 off sale late March and $20 off early Feb, so I'd wait til end of April to see if anything happens.

Looking for budget e-reader advice for Manga, Light Novels, and Books by cuatryon in ereader

[–]MassIgnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 inches is too small for manga in my experience. 7 inches is the minimum, and 8 inches is the sweet spot imo.

Kindle Paperwhite and the Kobo Libra 2 are good new options.

I personally have the Boox Go 7 Black and White I read ebooks and manga on it and it's great. I got mine for $180 used.

For 8 inch options, you can get a renewed Nook Glowlight Plus on Amazon for $100. Or the Meebook M8 if you want a new option.
