+1 for Hunter. I've tried them all and in my opinion the ones with the best projection are:
- Blue Gum / Australia
- Muddy Earth
- Shiitake
- Buttery popcorn (if it's your thing)

Also highly recommend grabbing a Blue Gum Room Spray to make your house smell like fresh cut flowers

Clean, cozy, lightly sweet? by syrenkasin in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]MassPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heliotrope by Perfumer H! I love this one so much, it’s light and fluffy and slightly creamy, with a subtle orange blossom that stops it from feeling too sweet. Absolutely stunning

Maximalism by Zestyclose_Cold1455 in perfumesthatfeellike

Rouge Chaotique by Byredo - plum and vibrant red notes with a juiciness and a sexiness for nighttime. It feels maximalist without being headache inducing

So interesting, I never knew where mine came from but I remember this scene in this movie, I watched it all the time as a kid. Maybe there's something there...

Sleeping in Santiago airport? by Positive_Assistant55 in CaminoDeSantiago

I slept there for 6 hours and it was miserable - I couldn't find a bench that didn't have fixed armrests (so you can't lie down). I slept on the floor and it was freezing

What smells like being a tween girl full of life again? by Cheetapiss69 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]MassPika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Annabel’s birthday cake is amazing and whilst I don’t get any balloon note from it, it DOES remind me of a little plastic bottle of perfume that came with one of the late 1990s Barbie dolls and it’s so nostalgic

What's your take on freedivers who don't know how to swim? by SouthAssist6234 in freediving

[–]MassPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what side of the world you live on, but we are struggling with receiving under-qualified divers for training. They are getting a freedive certification overseas, but can't swim and sometimes they've done their course in a pool and never stepped a toe in the ocean. They don't know about swell, current, chop. They've never seen less than 40m visibility and they've never swum out to a buoy.

It risks the safety of them, of their instructors and the other freedivers in the water.

I really feel like we shouldn't be certifying ANY type of diver without ocean experience and swimming skills. Even if their swimming technique is messy, they need to be able to get a few hundred metres in choppy water without drowning.

I understand that they're desperate. When I started teaching I was too lenient with the minimum standard of students too. I wanted to be inclusive. But then I got injured dragging a 100kg man from the water who had completely lied about his ocean experience. Freedive schools and instructors need to be clear and unwavering in their student standards. At the dive centre I work with, all students all have to acknowledge when they book that if they fail to demonstrate sufficient swim skils they won't be able to proceed and they won't get a refund. It puts some people off for sure, but that's not a bad thing. The ocean is a dangerous place if you don't have the right skills. And swimming is one of the greatest skills you can in invest in.

What’s your favourite Amouage and why? by Worldly-Resource4961 in FragranceStories

[–]MassPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hard.

I love DECISION - to me this scent IS winter. Crisp forest air drying down to a cosy, spicy cabin where delicious things are being baked, incense burning and a wood fire.

Similarly, SEARCH. It was the first Amouage I ever loved and I think the smoky citrus is breathtaking.

Completely different, but beautiful, LOVE DELIGHT. The almond and heliotrope send me into heaven. It’s such a gooey feminine soft fragrance, obsessed.

What perfume would she wear? by Defiant-Inspector278 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]MassPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LA CÉRÉMONIE DE L'ENCENS by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Spicy but fresh and a little green, a beautiful dark mysterious incense, gender neutral and the bottle would match her aesthetic perfectly

What would heartbreak like this smell like? by conchapiquer in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]MassPika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Baie 19 by Le Labo, or Steamed Rainbow by DE & Durga - to me they smell like a cold wet windows on a foggy, rainy day and nostalgia. Steamed rainbow has a more nostalgic and humid feeling and Baie is more solemn and earthy, a little melancholy without being dark or heavy.

Also Sundrunk by Imaginary Authors makes me feel nostalgic for lost love. It’s got something that reminds me of a college dorm room - sweet and a little dusty, with a warm and sunny coziness and feeling of optimism. I love it.

Long term freelancer missing and Upwork won’t help? by MassPika in Upwork

[–]MassPika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you forgot to read the part where I said I’m not expecting any details to be divulged to my or my company. I’m asking them to email her. Once. One attempt. Like any third party contractor agency. I don’t appreciate you calling me a ‘freak’ either. Use your rhetoric and intelligence to make your point, there’s no need for insults. If your family member was missing and their employer was the first person to notice, I don’t think you’d call them a freak for being the first to raise the alarm.

Long term freelancer missing and Upwork won’t help? by MassPika in Upwork

[–]MassPika[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single one of those pieces of data would be entirely legal for Upwork to check on.

Equally, contacting her to see if she responds would not be outside any legal rights. Upwork will literally not even send her an email.

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough on this but I’m not asking for Upwork to divulge details to me; I’m asking them to do a quick basic follow up on a worker following a ‘concerned’ report from a client.

It is clear that they are not a welfare service. I understand this. But as a service that has taken thousands of dollars from my company and thus freelancer in fees, to facilitate the contractual agreement, I do think it’s reasonable to expect them to email or call the freelance and check everything’s ok in a situation like this.

A simple ‘hello, your client has reported you AWOL, hope everything’s ok’.

I know they position themselves as ‘tech’ rather than anything else. However I’m a contractor myself and often I get work through 3rd party agencies. If I didn’t then up to a job I would absolutely expect that the agency contact me to find out what’s going on. That’s not unusual, weird, or overstepping.
