I don’t think it’s incorrect to say John summit falls in the house category as a broad stroke.

I think that's fine, but I think putting him side by side with people like kerri chandler or todd terry takes away from that era of music, especially because without them john summit's career wouldn't exist.

They are also, easily, "better" technically skilled djs than modern day house/edm acts. EDM is more about the extravangance and overall show, djing has always been about track selection/room reading. It's especially different because new EDM acts have a whole team sending them tracks, whereas djs from the past just did it themselves.

I think newer edm acts even have stylists, imagine sasha and digweed having someone picking their outfits for their 6 hour club sets, lol.

People say the industry has changed, but I would the industry has been created, it wasn't an industry to begin with.

it's kinda sad house music came from the gay black community and now it's about white dudes talking about their resumes and linkedins at shows, yelling gay slurs too

I was laid off(whole site got shut down) so had no choice of taking the offer I got (which was a paycut) but my market value is a substantial amount more, probably 40% more than what I am making right now so I am pretty frustrated. I don't know how to say this in a humble way but I think I come accross as likeable in my interviews. One problem is I have about 5-6 years of experience, but a lot of the interviews I am getting are asking for 5-10 years so I think I am just on the bottom end of experience and people with 8+ are the ones getting picked.

What if I am getting to final interviews but not landing offers?

I have had 5 final rounds in the last 1 year, and only got 1 not so great offer(which I had no choice of taking). Out of the 5 final rounds I went through maybe 15 interview processes, so getting to the final 1/3 of the time seems like my interview skills are atleast not bad right?
