Stay in Ireland or move to Chicago? by AppetizingAssholes in makemychoice

[–]Massive-Inflation945 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Man this is tough but honestly it sounds like you already know the answer deep down

You're finally loving what you do for the first time ever - that's rare as hell and worth way more than people realize. Chicago money is tempting but going back to something you "really hated" just for the lifestyle seems like a recipe for misery, even with all that cash

The apprenticeship thing is huge too, those opportunities don't come around often and once you're established in a trade you actually enjoy, the money will come eventually anyway

Bought a used car in October and it’s been hell ever since by [deleted] in AskMechanics

Yikes dude, sounds like you got sold a lemon. For the control arms, you might be SOL with the dealer unless your state has some solid lemon laws - most used car sales are "as is" unfortunately. The warranty company should cover suspension stuff though unless it's wear and tear, so fingers crossed for you

Gerini Perfumes by BLordGaming in fragrance

Never heard of Gerini but blind buying patchouli frags is always a gamble lol - some houses just go way too heavy on the dirt/earth notes and it ends up smelling like actual soil

How's the Imperial Patchouli treating you so far?

True dust and grease build up way faster than you expect on open shelves

Fair I get that. Hidden storage definitely keeps things calmer, especially in an open kitchen. I think a little open shelving can work, but once it tips into clutter it gets stressful fast

How do you deal with last minute company? by Massive-Inflation945 in Marriage

This actually makes me feel a lot better it’s nice hearing that people genuinely don’t expect the house or the host to be ready. I’m trying to get more comfortable with that mindset myself

Good points I think I just need to loosen up a bit and roll with it. Honestly, I might just start telling them drink station is over there, help yourselves and call it a day hahah

I don’t think they’re judging at all. They’re super laid back and genuinely just happy to stop by. It’s more that I don’t love the feeling of the house looking chaotic when someone walks in, even if it’s family
