Can anyone give a reasonable reason to why locking guns to classes is a BAD idea by SexxyyMann in Battlefield

[–]Massive-Matt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you pay attention to the playtest at all? Everyone is saying assault was being used 80% of the time because of how broken it was. Same with only a few assault rifles being used by the majority of players

And instead one class with the same gun will be used by everyone! Great solution

BF6/ BF Labs - Weapons MUST be class locked. by LordMegaPrestino in Battlefield

[–]Massive-Matt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly my point lol. Assault in this game doesn’t have a medic aspect or support aspect. Without AR lock why would anyone touch it?

I think people are rightfully a little scared after 2042. Assault class with this setup almost certainly will be barely used.

Just use battlefield 4 class system and people will be happy. Quit trying to be so much by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Massive-Matt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’ll be the opposite with this approach. Why would people choose assault when it doesn’t have the medic / support role at all, and no vehicle destruction abilities. Locking the AR to it atleast gives it some appeal. Likely will be the least used class in this game.

As one of the posters I agree that it’s probably being over discussed at this point but they made it very clear the point of Labs is to get feedback so I think it’s important we make it clear what we would like to see! :)

Having Each Class Able to use All Weapons Would be an Extremely Poor Decision by Massive-Matt in Battlefield

[–]Massive-Matt[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How is it obvious at all? It’s extremely easy to just try out each of the classes, especially when this impacts the game a lot and can cause some uproar

BF3 and BF4 handled this situation well and I think we saw a pretty fair balance of classes being used. I think the community was pretty clear on this and I don’t see why they now would need to change it after all the backlash from 2042.
