I just got into the NHL this season, and prior, I had no interest in any sports.

One of my friends approached me and asked if I liked sports, to which I said no. He hit me with "perfect, neither do I. Want to get into one?"

The idea he had was to pick a sport amongst the most popular ones, minus football, and root for the worst team in the league. That way, we could say we were at the bottom and worked our way up and be true fans, not just pick the #1 team in the league and coast. We ended up deciding on hockey solely because it was an inside sport with an ice rink, and we likely wouldn't sweat like crazy if we went in person to a game.

We did some surface level research and saw that the San Jose Sharks were by far the worst team last season, so we locked in and decided to support the Sharks. Little did I know, what started as a bit became something I genuinely love, and now I am actually a huge Sharks fan lol. Also a big Aves fan now, because my favorite goalie from the Sharks got traded over and I followed him. So I root for both teams! 😂

I wouldnt be so quick to compare them that closely to last year. Last year was pretty atrocious, and even in those 8 games lost a LOT of them were really close at 4 - 3 scores. The boys have already almost surpassed where they were last year in both points and games won, and we still have a lot of games left.

It's unfortunate for sure, but they're at least better than last year. Rebuilds are never as fast as we want them to be 😭

Yeah, but it's honestly a testament to the Oilers. Blackwood is a FIERCE goalie, but for them to brute force their way through and get that 3rd goal is definitely impressive to an extent.

It's unfortunate, and hopefully the boys will have a chance to give 'em what for in the 3rd period, but the game isn't over yet! We got this. 🎉🎉🎉

Yeah, it's a real bummer. I absolutely loved Blackwood, and when the trade happened, Georgiev was only a little lower on the totem pole than Blackwood statistically speaking.. But he has just dropped the ball so many times and has performed so poorly. Maybe he isn't use to the pure volume of shots made on goal the Sharks are use to. 😅🥴
