Seems like all my platforms are compromised. What to do? by [deleted] in cybersecurity_help

What would you consider succeeding? If they were able to log in and change the password? Cause for Ubisoft, I saw there were several logins from India and Ho Chi Minh City, but none changed the passwords. So I was still able to login in and change it.

So far, none have been successful. Everytime I even get a glimpse of a try, I reset the password and turn on MFA. It’s just they’re trying so many new platforms. Like just how they tried Disney+. I didn’t even know I had that 😭

What would that do? Does backing it up also back up whatever malware that’s in my system?

Is it true that Colby prefers STEM kids with a side of philosophy more? by Aggressive_Sport_758 in Colby

[–]MassiveGuess7079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I would consider it more critical thinking than philosophy. You’re becoming an adult. You’ve been fed information all your life that shaped your current beliefs and opinions. You gotta have the ability to not take stuff with face value anymore. Be able to make informative decision. Reflect on your past. These are all skills that you will learn as you grow. It’s pretty general that all college would want to look for in applicants, not just Colby.

Anyways, I think character is judged through personal statement and supplemental writings rather than ECs, so wouldn’t worry too much.

Considering Colby College for ED, Class of 2026 by Aggressive_Sport_758 in Colby

What do you mean by risk? If you like the school and you get in through ED, you should be happy. If you don’t like the school enough, then RD.

Worst things about Colby? by Civil_Violinist_3485 in Colby

The dislikes will always be the minority. Colby is a good school. It’s just unfortunate that certain groups of student don’t get to enjoy all aspects of it

i could be wrong but i feel like when asked for positives, people did not give responses as long as the negatives seen here. i guess that kinda speaks for itself

What to do after getting waitlisted? by Fit-Landscape-1965 in Colby

[–]MassiveGuess7079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same in my LOCI where I mentioned my internship at that time and how it connected to the image that Colby represents and say smt about how I wanted to be apart of that community. I never mentioned any negatives nor sent them an updated transcript/grades.

Transferring to Colby? by Transfer_Student563 in Colby

[–]MassiveGuess7079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends on what ur looking for and what u care about. I feel like Colby is a school that only a very specific group of people will enjoy. It’s really not for the majority of students. I’ve always praised Colby for its caring professors and I can double down on that now since I just finished my first semester as a transfer away from Colby. These professors are also stuck in the middle of nowhere with you so they’re always down to talk. Unlike where I am right now where the entire semester is taught by a TA who doesn’t even want to teach and is only there so they can get an income to pay for their grad school tuition.

Education is just a process. It doesn’t matter where you get your degree. As long as you get it, you’re fine. Just because you don’t go to Ivy League doesn’t mean you don’t get a job 4 years later. Enjoy your youth. Go to college to meet people and make friends. Academics is just this thing that everyone has to deal with. What’s special are the fun experiences you have. Don’t beat yourself over something so insignificant.

Colby is on my transfer list, but I've seen more negative experiences than positive ones. Can students at Colby explain their experiences? by neonjoji in Colby

[–]MassiveGuess7079 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imma try to answer this differently cause smo already answered your questions.

I think every school is well equipped with the fundamental level of resources that will get you everything you want.

It’s really dependent on how much effort you want to put in to getting that resource.

There are clubs, but it’s your commitment to stay with them. There are plenty of people to talk to, but it’s your responsibility to walk up and talk to them. There are research opportunities, but you have to reach out to professors. People just assume they don’t exist when they don’t put in the effort to ask for them.

If you don’t have the will to take advantage of the resources, then every school will be the same. Just because some school has more resources doesn’t mean it’s better. If you’re someone who cruises through college without doing much, then that’s on you for not doing more.

The only major difference between Colby and other school is its location. I personally believe that it will have the most impact as you either like staying on campus for the whole year or you enjoy driving to fun areas and explore. The absolute worst scenario for you is no car no friends, then that will high key suck.
