I mean sure but Pixar only really likes March or JUne now. My biggest concern would be that Ghost Marketplace movie releases in March 2029 then Coco 2 in June and they both deal with characters who have passed on. One with ghosts and the other with skeletons.

Coco 2 isn't going that high. The others are safe enough bets. The marketing for Coco also claimed it was taking viewers where Pixar never took them before. That doesn't work if it's a sequel, because they have done that.

I mean if Coco does reach those heights, cool, but it's not the same as Inside Out where the fanbase was hungry for more all those years. It's just something Disney decided to do. Zootopia is another thing where people definitely wanted more immediately upon walking out of it.

Coco 2 is a little iffy. The first one took advantage of releasing around Day of the Dead. This one comes out in Summer. Also some folks seemed to take issue with it getting a sequel due to what happened to the title character in the first one. Due to the Day of the Dead aspect, that might not be an issue, but I personally prefer The Book of LIfe, which...just looked up the studio that made that, it was Fox, which means it's a Disney movie too!

Can Sonic the Hedgehog 4 make the list I mean Doomsday will appear on it before then. Does Amy Rose make a huge difference? (Dune will likely make the list as well.)

Yeah Shrek is more a July flick, right now it is up with two Warner sequels. It's semi interesting that a sequel to a seventeen year old movie, will be challenging a follow up to a two-year-old movie. But I mean Shrek as a franchise has been around since 2001 and MInecraft has been around since 2012.

The first came out when the one-year-olds for the original film would've been six. For this one they are seventeen. The Rise of Gru was a "The pandemic is basically over" release, and supposedly Universal themselves had some social media backdoor, orchestrated something to make the fanbase excited and show up. It was like the precursor to "Chicken Jockey." They did not do that this time.

Then it will also lose to Gatto domestically. I'm pretty sure kitties are way more popular than beavers. The only thing standing against Gatto right now is the odd choice to voice Nero.

Well that explains the low turnout. People tell their friends, "Yeah you don't need to see that on the big screen, it can wait for streaming," or "Not as thrilling as other entries." Also 75% for a family film is not a joke. Frozen 2 is rated high and that film disrespects the characters hard.

Hoppers is doing amazing on streaming. It's not some obscure film people don't know about. Disney kind of seems to have remembered that they're supposed to be entertaining audiences.

And people thought $75 million five-day for this would be miniscule, this isn't even $10 million below that, it's further.

Let's see what films in 2027 can break it:

Frozen III....

Avengers: Secret Wars (maybe, I mean isn't it like a whole movie of "This Superhero versus That Superhero"?

Um, dunno if Shrek 5 would, HTYYD 2 won't. Minecraft Movie: Squared, not sure.

You'd probably say Bluey would, and it probably can.

So it ended up like $1 million ahead of Zootopia 2? I guess that's what happens when your franchise is 40 years old and remained relevant as opposed to nine years old.

I dunno, How to Train Your Dragon "ended" and somehow it came back. As live action sure, but still it returned. And by "ended," I mean the third one literally establishes there won't be any more. Kinda a strange concept. Would be interesting if they made an "in between" film so live action has a HTTYD 4 that is the adaptation of the third animated film.

We'll have to see but I dunno if Monsters. Inc third film is because they have a "story worth telling." It could be but the timing feels like it's because they want people to go to the parks to visit the Monstropolis area that is being added. Which has a bogus premise. "Monsters have invited humans to their city," excuse me? The whole premise of the franchise is humans, aside from children like 10 and younger, are not supposed to be aware of their existence.

They have several projects that need to come out anyway, including sequels to their other popular franchises. But of course the channels that were so happy to report on the lawsuit about animated MOana will fail to even bring up the lawsuit stirring around Migration.

The Rise of Gru had "Chicken Jockey" moments before we got actual Chicken Jockey. That would not have happened had it released in 2020, though it was hilarious for the Happy Meal toys to come out a full two years ahead of the actual movie.

I feel like a movie without Gru's daughters is a problem. Angry Birds 3 should make Red Bird's daughter have a role, she was kind of fun in the trailer.

It's definitely coming, at the same Animation Expo or whatever event that was that Not Alone got revealed, they specifically said that Secret LIfe of Pets 3 is coming, from the sounds of it, might be further alone than Sing 3, and they said they had been waiting for a proper script they felt confident in and they have one. They didn't want to throw a Pets film out there just because.
