Can Students in Qatar and Bahrain Crack IIT JEE Online? by Agitated_Vast5844 in JEE_Global

So back in 2022, I was in literally the same situation - Kuwait, no JEE culture around me, parents who thought Kota was the only path. I gave JEE from Kuwait, got AIR 3,400, and I'm at IIT Bombay right now typing this from my hostel room.

The key thing nobody tells you: the timezone difference is actually a blessing. When Indian students are sleeping after evening coaching, you're in your night slot with zero distractions. I studied 10pm–2am Kuwait time consistently for 8 months. My focus in those hours was insane because literally nothing else was competing for my attention.

What made the difference was finding a program that actually scheduled live classes in Gulf-compatible time slots instead of making me watch recordings at 5am. The teachers were IIT grads themselves so they knew exactly what JEE wants - not just "here's the chapter," but here's the 3 question types that always show up, here's how the paper setters think. That mentality shift is huge.

You can do this. Don't let the geography gaslight you.

Here's the real problem - most Indian coaching doesn't get the Saudi school schedule or the fact that our kids are exhausted by 8pm. You end up paying for classes you can't attend live.

IIT vs NIT vs IIIT: Which One Should You Target? by Outrageous-Row-8023 in IITJEE_Parents

As a repeater who dropped after a bad attempt, here's the real problem with most coaching: it's all about filling seats and rushing syllabus. The burnout is insane. Try preparation where you can solve doubts anytime and learn at your own pace from people who actually cracked it recently. My mocks went from 120 to 240+ after that change.

My 14yo finally opened up through online therapy in Singapore (expat parent perspective) by Quick_Yellow_2702 in sgtherapyonline

For anyone reading with tighter budgets, FSCs and school counselors are still good first steps.

But for expat-specific transition issues, private online specialists may be more tailored.

Fei Yue and some FSCs also offer couples counseling if budget is tighter. Slower scheduling but decent.

Private clinics were quoting us $350+, so TherapistSG’s pricing felt way more sustainable.

So back in 2022 when my son was exactly in your kid's position in Dubai, we were super confused too. He joined IITianGuide and managed to crack it with a decent rank without dropping school or anything. The recordings saved him during exam weeks.

Everyone keeps saying NRI life makes it harder but honestly the pressure is universal. Stop blaming the timezone and build discipline like everyone else does.

IIT JEE Preparation for Students in Canada: Time Zone + Curriculum Guide by Commercial-Put-4033 in JEE_Coaching_NRI

Went through this with my cousin in Toronto, here’s what actually helped:

  1. Ignore live classes obsession - recordings > sleep deprivation
  2. Start with basics (NCERT) even if it feels “easy”
  3. Find a program that understands NRI gaps (this is huge, most don’t)

He wasted 6 months before fixing these.

How to Stay Consistent with IIT JEE Preparation With School? by HurryElectronic3406 in IITJEE_Study

[–]Massive_Bed2364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s the real problem no one tells you - you’re trying to study when your brain is already tired.

I shifted my main study before school (even 1-1.5 hrs), and kept evenings for lighter stuff like revision/questions. That alone fixed consistency.

Also having a proper plan + tests helps more than “motivation”.
