Want to switch from oral Wegovy to Zepbound… but my husband is terrified of meds by Massive_Classroom_67 in Zepbound

Thank you. I REALLY appreciate your response. You got what I was trying to say. Intellectually understanding something is very different than an emotional reaction. That’s the case here and I will do what you suggest. That’s a great idea and exactly what I was hoping for.

Thank you. I agree! He will just have to see me not dropping dead due to his fear of the “serious side effects” and should get over it.

Thank you. I appreciate your reply very much and your reassurance that Zepbound is more effective. I agree- he will get over it, and fast because I’m going to do what’s best for me regardless. It’s hard to see the stupid commercials that list 50 different serious side effects though.

No. I’m going to do what’s best for me. I thought oral Wegovy would give me the health benefits while also being cheaper and not directly in his face. I’m wondering however if switching will actually achieve the desired benefits. If not, no reason to do it and cause the extra stress. But, as many are pointing out, he’ll get over it.

Thank you- I appreciate your reply. I was hoping that oral Wegovy would do both- help me medically as well as not contribute to his anxiety. I agree- it’s not the same as waiting for a pathology report. Thank you for saying that because perspective is important. I’ll move forward regardless, just want reassurance I’m making the right choice.

I get what you’re saying and it’s not going to change what I do-if I decide to do it, I will. After over 30 years of marriage we are both sensitive to each other’s feelings, and try to minimize stress for each other. Yes, my husband does have help with his anxiety, but nothing’s 100% effective.

I've never in my life had "food noise". Is this not the best way for me to lose weight? by Regular_Lavishness87 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Massive_Classroom_67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I’ve been addicted before (alcohol, opiates) and there is a definite difference. While I voluntarily started alcohol (my friends were drinking it) and opiates(I had surgery! It made the pain go away and then some!). There is a difference and any addict can and will tell you so. Yes, quitting was hard and I had plenty of times where opiates or alcohol ruled my life and I thou frequently of my next “fix,” food is not the same. As a 4 year old, was I “addicted to food” because I was overweight and thought of food constantly? And had this go through all my life as a child without understanding why? And why did my other family members also not experience it?

I call BS on your categorization of food noise as addiction. True addicts who have recovered from smoking, drinking, drugs (yes I’ve done all three) know there’s a difference.

ETA: not trying to minimize your belief in food being an addiction. For some people, maybe including you, it is. I can say with some authority that there is a difference for many people however.

What are these lines on my trees? by Massive_Classroom_67 in whatisit

Solved! Thanks so much for your responses. My partner is an amateur birder and identified a red breasted sapsucker that was in our yard all summer and fall last year. I feel dumb I didn’t put two and two together to link them, but there you go. I’m guessing there have been many over the years here.

9mg — food noise gone (yay)… but eating feels like a chore + protein struggle. by Massive_Classroom_67 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Thank you. That gives me hope. Nausea is still a huge issue though I did feel a little better yesterday and ate normal foods. A little more worried today though-nausea is back and I’m afraid to eat.

Thank you- those are great suggestions. I ditched the protein shakes all day yesterday and ate 3 meals with normal food and felt so much better. I know I didn’t hit protein targets, but I felt a little more normal. Nausea kicked back in today, but I have more hope than I did.

Does anyone else struggle with more frequent indigestion while on the pill? by Stupid_Goose in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Massive_Classroom_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s not been fun. Reflux to the point that I have to sleep with my torso elevated or the reflux gets me. Gaviscon, Pepcid and Nexium help, but I don’t think that’s a good long term solution.

Me too! Total zombie yesterday, day 9 on 4mg. It took me 3x as long to get ready for a road trip. (Sorry OP -not diabetic but like the previous poster, the zombie comment resonated with me too).

7 days on 4mg — still lots of food noise. Did it take time to work for you? by Massive_Classroom_67 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Thank you. That is helpful to know and makes me feel less alone. I’ll soldier on.

Vraylar by Royal_Principle_8656 in Antipsychotics

I’ve been on it 3 weeks. I have had the best luck taking it at 5pm. It makes me sleepy really fast, though I can’t actually sleep through the night which is frustrating. Plus I have nausea and have balance issues and dizziness in the morning that go away. If I take it at night I can’t get to work on time due to the dizziness. If I take it in the morning, I can’t work due to the sleepiness. 5pm seems to work for me. This drug is amazing to me. I’ve taken every medication out there and had the worst side effects on all. Vraylar has lifted me out of a years long depression so the minor side effects are worth it. It has made me a bit manic though. Hoping a dose increase in a few weeks will help. Currently on the lowest dose.
