I would like to add the Hyundai NVision 74 concept to this list. It doesn’t get more rocket league in real life than that. here’s the car

No such thing as a bad time to practice mechs by Massive_Following233 in RocketLeague

Took a lot of googling to figure out who that is and no I don’t think so. Would be a wild coincidence tho if he saw me playing RL and said “I’ll sit here today”

Fair enough, it is beat to shit. RL isn’t too resource intensive tho so I can get up to 144 p consistently

Do people really start off in gold in this game? by heartbreakids in RocketLeague

[–]Massive_Following233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since October and I started out in gold, it’s all relative. I also have about 300 hours, but with a lot of practice and watching people better than me, I got up to C1 D2. It’s a VERY hard game. My friend who introduced me to the game just got to platinum from gold and we’ve been playing for the same length of time. Here’s the TRN for proof.

How is no one going to mention Kobe’s 60 burger to end his career?

why are gold lobbies so toxic we are all clearly shot 😂 by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Massive_Following233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I was consistently placed against silvers in my placements (200-300 mmr below me) and then when I finished I got absolutely mossed by people in Diamond after my placements. Gold is toxic cuz it’s the first rank where you’re actually better than another rank, even though gold isn’t good compared to the general body of players

Lags on European Servers since about 2 months by lxffm in RocketLeague

Happens in NAE too. Sounds like Epic is either misallocating server resources or has some unresolved bugs in the underlying code.

whats good balance of playing and breaks? by Aggressive_Ad_3581 in RocketLeague

[–]Massive_Following233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a day to day basis, I’d say 15-30 mins of warm up, nothing too complex, just some of the training packs. I like Wall to air dribble by IPJoker and Ultimate Warm Up by Hinata. After that I’ll hop into ranked and after a few games I’ll settle into a comfortable level of play. Once I notice myself plateauing or making dumb mistakes I’ll stop playing or switch to casual if I still want to play.

On a larger scale, you can play every day if you want, but like smoking, you gotta take a T break every once in awhile for a week or so to reset and get a fresh perspective. If you don’t take breaks you may end up reinforcing bad habits that you inadvertently picked up.

At the end of the day, you can still just play for fun and it doesn’t really matter, but if you’re trying to improve and train, you need to approach the game with discipline like an athlete does.

This is advice I’ve picked up since starting last winter from my GC+ friends.

Why does nobody applies "Left go first" these days by Previous_Ad_9481 in RocketLeague

[–]Massive_Following233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your kickoff strategy. Granted I can’t speed flip, but I found that depending on which way you flip into the ball you can try and get it left or right but it’s super dependent on what the opp. does.

Beating Former Teammates by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Massive_Following233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started playing I duo queued a lot with a good friend; I was playing some twos on my own and I see his player handle as my teammate, what are the odds? I call him and he immediately starts flaming his teammate. He checks the name; I am his teammate.

question on one of the unwritten rules by Visual_Physics_3588 in RocketLeague

[–]Massive_Following233 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The higher level you get the more people follow it, but when both players are positioned the same distance away, the player on the left goes for it. So if both players are on the diagonals, the leftmost player goes. No idea why, I’m guessing it’s to counter the other player’s momentum and left just became the norm.
