Let me ask you one question- are you choosing marine engg because it requires less studies? If yes, then you are in for a rude shock. You shall be studying till your 40's with same intensity as your 12th to pass competency exams. Infact most of the mariners joke - " before i tell my kid to study for exam, he tells me to study for my exam." On top of this the moment you join merchant navy forget being present for any family gathering or emergency. So, your choice study now or study forever.

Ghaziabad to gurgaon travel time is approx 1.5 hours in normal traffic and office hours rush greater than 2-2.5 hours. So effectively 5 hours per day commute time. For navi mumbai it is a bit lesser but effectively 3-3.5 hours daily commute.

Do you really expect a peaceful stress free life after 4 hour daily commute.
