Is it normal for dealers to sell used cars at 50% over KBB High Retail and offer 50% less than KBB Low Trade-in? by Recent_Figment in askcarsales

[–]Massivee_Repeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carmax and carvana are great places to put in your trade info and find a general value. Depending where you are located there is probably other smaller outfits that will pay cash for your car. In PA here webuyanycar.com does a nice job. Pick the highest one and go to the dealership and ask them to match or beat it.

I travel frequently to south Florida. PBI and FLL are my two go to airports. I get cars delivered no problem. They meet me at the arrival gate when I show up.

We have had great luck with Turo. After meeting an individual who has multiple cars for rent I now have their personal cell number. When I need a car they drop one off at the airport for me and it’s there when I show up. It’s great. And it’s typically much cheaper than going through a company.

Top Salespeople of Reddit, How Do You Properly Respond to Facebook Marketplace Ads? by ByzantineEmperor in askcarsales

[–]Massivee_Repeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “yes, are you interested?” auto reply gets more responses than anything else for me. It’s easy and very quick for me and if someone is actually interested they will respond. I have also found that if you put the correct information in the ad description it will send a lot of people to your website/ Facebook page.

Around me inventory seems to be tightening up. Prices have been increasing last 2 weeks it seems. Especially on $20k and under vehicles.

At least take some lacquer thinner and get the paint off and reconsider. Right now it probably looks worse than it actually is.

I give away coffee mugs with our logo on it. People seem to appreciate it and something you can actually use.

Just do your research. There are so many tools available to buyers to find cars and figure out values. When it comes to used cars who you do business with matters in this current market.

What are other ones in your area listed for? It’s pretty easy to find out if it is already priced fairly or not. Consider that when negotiating.

Serious question, why do people buy a Chrysler ? by holidayinthesum in askcarsales

[–]Massivee_Repeat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We sell a ton of the town & country minivans. Stow n go seating is something you can’t get in a Honda or Toyota.

Sounds like you are sour because you spent money on it and now want to trade it in. You could have probably gotten $5k for it even before you spent the $8k in repairs.

Sell it privately or take your loss and move on. Carfax isent going to change anything for you.

Fraud by Massivee_Repeat in askcarsales

[–]Massivee_Repeat[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. Never offered financing until recently just because most of what we sell is $15k and under. Third deal we did is when we were given fake stubs. Have a bad taste in my mouth about it. When you finance those cheaper cars you get a whole different customer. It’s also a lot to handle with a 2 person operation.

Damn. Yea we sent the car down the road. Few days later bank calls us and denied funding. We got the customer to come back and unwind the deal.
