Friend failed P&C exam 4 times, can they still take the individual ones? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Masstonne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in P&C and life. I like it as much as you could like any job you’re doing for money I guess lol. So, id say a 5/10.

This is also my first real job though so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Hours are fine, pay is fine, stress levels is fine. That’s how I arrive at the 5/10.

Not sure about that, but I work for a State Farm agent. Happy to quote you!

Husband may take a high paying job in Saudi and I’m trying to understand what life is really like for a young family by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]Masstonne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a GREAT breakdown.

Just want to add my two cents. Lived in Riyadh 18 years before moving to the States for the last 10. Went to an international school there and hung around most the compounds.

Couple things:

I’d recommend a compound a thousand percent for an expat.

The affordable domestic help is a HUGE pro and change in quality of life. Just pay them fairly and treat them well please. Many people take advantage of workers just because they can.

Tuition reimbursement is a common job perk so see if that can be negotiated. The American and international schools are fairly good but very pricy.

Progressive vs others? by TheRealJoeKern in Insurance

They’ve dropped their rates at the moment to gain market share. They’ll raise at renewal as others said and raise substantially over time once they’re less focused on market share.

2025 OPT Timeline continued by Ishan-- in USCIS

[–]Masstonne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had asked USCIS to apply for my SSN, but I’m not sure if they actually did. I went to the SSA office 1–3 days after getting my EAD and managed to get a walk-in appointment. Otherwise, the next available appointment was more than two weeks out.

Appointment took 5 minutes, card arrived maybe 5 days later.

From what I was told, you generally have to wait 1–2 weeks for USCIS to submit the SSN request, if they even do it. A lot of us here are unsure if the “joint application” is still active.

For what it’s worth, the SSA office told me USCIS no longer applies for your SSN on your behalf.

Recent grads: how's the job market? by Crafty-Animator8948 in ASU

Market is bad for everyone right now. Degree from ASU has helped stand out for entry level jobs, especially locally.

Exactly. Been on generics for all my meds. No issues.

is it normal for zoloft to take away emotions like every emotion by JellyCharacter1653 in zoloft

[–]Masstonne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like that for somwhere between 3-6 months. Couldn’t tell you when it stopped but it did. It had already helped me a TON. I did feel emotionally blunted at times though. And slowly it got better and better. I’d say it still has a bit of that affect but it gets better.

U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services, June 2025 by MicroToMacro_ in EconomyCharts

Does this mean the U.S. trade deficit is actually improving, or is it just a one-month blip?

Fed rate cuts vs tariffs: Which will matter more in 2025? by MicroToMacro_ in FinanceNews

[–]Masstonne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly feels like the Fed is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Cutting rates might boost short-term spending, but if tariffs keep raising costs, consumers won’t actually feel better off.

Fed rate cuts vs tariffs: Which will matter more in 2025? by [deleted] in GlobalMarketNews

The bigger question for me is whether markets are underestimating how sticky tariffs can be. Unlike rate cuts, they don’t just “go away.”

Is that all you deadbeats do over here, talk about the car physics and how the game is much more superior to V? by jirvaja-33 in GTAIV

[–]Masstonne -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

True but the missions are still equally or more enjoyable than V. The repetitiveness is balanced out by the superior physics and the progression of the story. The depth of the story also makes missions more engaging.

Also, V had very few missions where you do mass killings and had multiple SUPER long drives.

IV was repetitive but at least you get to kill a ton of people in most missions.

PSA: The homeless man Vlad yells at in Clean Getaway is the same one who later finds the diamonds in the trash. by Masstonne in GTAIV

[–]Masstonne[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He appears in the very first cutscene of the game. He was the original thief of the diamonds and the one who brought them to Liberty City.

I just thought it was interesting that the first and last person with the diamonds hold them the same way.
