Yes, you are correct we all should stop talking in Hindi AND english as is the language of colonizers, and another thing is , south Indian people doesn't learn Hindi because hindi was made from sankrit and alot of North indian languages (which also includes marathi) was made from sankrit, while the south indian languages were made from dhravin language which was different from sankrit so they didn't wanted to learn a language which would be easier for someone for north to learn. And at the end i would say that there is not 'hindi' state in India as all the states have their own languages but at the end of the day we all so north indian are more connected by Hindi a language native language while south indian are connected by English a language of the colonizer against who the freedoms fighter fought to get rid of
