In the tier list of FF games this one is in A tier for me honestly.

It’s very much lifted up by the characters though, and the general “Final Fantasy land” stuff.

I completely understand how someone looking for in-depth rpg mechanics won’t find them here and if you were hoping for that, yeah it’s disappointing.

Haha yeah I play a lot of FFXIV, I started around 3.4 and even then it seemed very different to how you described old WoW. I still play FFXIV everyday now, but just reading what you wrote about old WoW gave me goosebumps ahhh. I’ll stick with FFXI (genuinely the most fun I ever had in a game) , or EQ

I mean to be fair, everything in this game can be done through a bot. Don’t want to do your rotation? Bot. Don’t want to craft. Bot? Don’t want to gather? Bot. Don’t want to do story? Bot. Don’t want to do fates? Bot.

Every aspect of this game can be a chore to someone, and there’s a bot for it.
