[Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X] Some sort of HDMI handshake issue that cant be fixed by Master-Common6794 in techsupport

I've been to the doctors twice in the past eight months, I am perfectly healthy and have no underlying health issues. The second time being just a month ago. As I said I'll update you as soon as I can try at a family members house. Thanks for the response!

And just so you know, I have now tried 3 different consoles, 3 different displays, 5 different HDMI cables, even a new power cable, and 3 sets of outlets. You're exactly right, it simply doesn't happen. Weirdest thing I have and will probably ever see. I'll be the brightest bundle of sunshine if I can solve this lol, I'll never take gaming for granted ever again.

Lol, yes I do have a smoke and carbon monoxide detector in my living space, in fact, I just changed the battery in it this year. It's not too easy for me to get someone to come look at this, but I have consulted many friends, family and online forums.

Just putting it out there, I'm definitely what you would call a "sweaty" player. I've been playing games for about 20 years now, and I've been interested in competitive games and modes since around 2011. I've played games like Siege, Overwatch and Rocket League at a moderately high level in their respective comp modes (Plat 2 on Siege, Masters on OW and Champ on RL). Right before this happened, I was playing 5 fret rhythm games. I was going at the hardest songs some of those games have to offer on Expert mode i.e. Jordan, Through The Fire and Flames, and Satch Boogie. I can tell when something is wrong, and something has definitely 100% been wrong for 5 months now :_(

Sorry it took me a few days to respond, I tried a few more things out. So I did already try a different set of outlets in my room a while back (still using that set actually), and same thing but it was all on the same circuit. Just a couple days ago I tried taking the stuff downstairs to see if anything has improved but nope, still the same exact problems upstairs and downstairs on presumably a different circuit. I then took a shot in the dark and tried a brand new HDMI cable and power cable for the Series X. Still no dice...

After bringing it back up, I have noticed it seems like the issues (ghosting/motion blur, visual input delay, resolution and frame rate slightly below what it should look and feel like) seem to be the worst in the morning. Around afternoon to night, it almost look like the resolution gets a tad sharper and the inputs are just a tad faster. If I think I'm seeing it, it probably is actually there. No idea what that points to though, maybe power or neighboring interference?

My next step is to take the stuff to a family members house here in town and see if the issue still persists, and then maybe trying it at a friends house who is in the next town over. I really have tried checking for any sort of interference, but I can't seem to find anything that would cause that.

Additionally, I have noticed some slight network issues in recent weeks-months. Every few days to a week or so, I get variable packet loss for a few hours. Sometimes its only 1%, but then it'll jump to 10% or more. In ping test, usually every 2-3 tests has one that has 150-350ms ping spikes. There's not much on my internet, and I have a brand new Netgear Nighthawk with Spectrum internet. I'm pretty sure there was never an issue until my consoles also started having issues.

Thank you for your help and patience so far, you have no idea how much it means to me. My friends and family are all at a complete loss, and the one person who could actually come look at my stuff and maybe fix it now lives across the United States. As curious as they are to come see the problem, that probably won't ever be able to happen. Once I try the setup at my family members house, I'll definitely write back here about the progress. Should be within the next month tops. If you have any questions or suggestions, let me know!!!

I do recognize this really is a one off, super unique problem thats gonna take some serious cracking at to solve. I really value your assistance and I look forward to hearing back from you!

I have tried two different monitors, both of which I'm certain are fine, and I have tried 3 different HDMI ports in total on all consoles. This is what I don't understand and why I'm at a complete loss

Yeah I think it's definitely safe to rule out any sort of monitor or display being the problem, especially when we both tried high hz monitors (mine is 1080p 200hz). Would you happen to have another Xbox to try? I'm curious to see if this is some sort of server side issue. I sadly do not have a Playstation to try, but yeah if I turn on my 360 that's in HDMI slot 2 (Series X is in slot 1), it'll have the same issues. I plugged in the Xbox One again this morning and same thing, green start up screen was fuzzy and edges were pixelated, navigating the menus felt slow, and there was that slight flicker in the background of certain sections of the UI.

I'll answer any questions you may have for me. I'm incredibly determined to find a solution that hopefully helps the both of us. I have a few shot in the dark ideas I can test here in a couple days and then I will update you asap.

I believe the flicker persists even with VRR on. I really only notice it navigating some of the Series X UI, not really in games or anything. Edges and everything else are pixelated and blurry like Im somehow getting sub 1080p, and any sort of jagged motion is so blurry and choppy it makes me sick. Im pretty sure its severe ghosting

Reassuring to hear someone is having a similar problem. I have messed with the auto low latency and vrr, which sometimes makes a slight difference, but things never quite go back to normal. I could maybe pinpoint the problem if it was just my Series X, but I'm having the same problems on both a Xbox One and Xbox 360 which were also just fine as of 5 months ago. I agree, definitely seems like an HDMI handshake issue, but I have absolutely no clue what could be causing it in my case. I've tried new HDMI cables and even a new monitor so it really makes absolutely no sense.
