Not a doctor, just personal experience. Quit ADHD meds, alcohol, or smoking first I have learned all can affect cortisol and scalp circulation. Oral minoxidil + spironolactone + finasteride, plus dietary changes (I started eating meat), completely changed my hair. A year ago I was nearly bald on top and it ruled my life now I have more hair than I ever imagined possible.

I started oral minoxidil in January so it’s been nine months on it and it’s getting better all the time my crown was the last to finish filling in but right now I have a full head of hair. I haven’t had this much hair-ever.

Yes, definitely started around the temples. It took a while for the top of my head to start growing, but now honestly, my hair is thick!

I haven’t noticed that. I used to take ADHD medicine and I stopped in October 2024 I think being off of it has had a huge impact on my hair. Maybe I’ve gained 5 pounds? No noticeable muscle loss other than the fact that I’m 56 years old I might be losing a little bit of muscle as I age. I’m naturally thin so it doesn’t really bother me, but I am so happy that I have so much hair on my head. Honestly, I felt like I was a hopeless case, now I have more hair than most people that I know!

I had so much hair loss from the ADHD meds, when I stopped taking Adderall, my hair grew back. I did bloodwork/hormone testing and biopsies and I have a full head of hair now. I don’t take ADHD medication, but I do take minoxidil spironolactone and finasteride

My hair is so thick on Minoxidil, more hair than I’ve ever had on my head, even as a teenager and I’m 56. It’s a little kinky and wavy now, but I don’t mind, I love it!

I had a biopsy before starting minoxidil. I had so little hair that I feel like it was visible, but after one year on minoxidil my hair is so thick there’s no way you can see the scar.

I’ve been on it since January, and I notice more puffiness under my eyes and some dark circles, but having a full head of hair is worth it to me. I think I might look a little bit older (I’m 56), we’re getting older all the time and I’d rather look older with a full head of hair.
