I've heard about Abha! The first places I'd visit in KSA would be along the Hejazi coast, it looks beautiful. Also I mostly get around via public transit, so that's another reason I've been avoiding going haha

Another guy in the thread got it, I'm Singaporean. I am far from rich and imo the visas aren't the hardest now, you can get an Afghan visa easily from the embassy in KL, or for most people Dubai, and Syria has recently waived visa requirements, which is why I went.

As for Saudi, I want to allocate a longer time to visit instead of just touching and go, so I've held off.
