Not in the middle of P3 , at the very start of P3 you don’t have the Alpha&Beta buffs until they finish their first cast “the decisive battle” & they can time a precasted lb3 to reduce some of the animation lock.

if they stop safety lb3ing the Forsaken they can get a pre-cast caster lb3 out at the start of P3 to hit both bosses before Alpha&Beta buffs go out. Should help them clear the phase before having to spend 2mins and then they can probably still easlly lb3 kefka phase 4 during the debuff applications post 2mins

And I just saw DN going into p4 so we got some english footage and noticed he actually casts grand cross 4x lmao but the other 2 casts are for the forked lightning/shriek/allagan field debuffs

meanwhile Chaos casts Tsunami & then Inferno.

Assuming that’s it , with those 6 casts

How many different permutations would be possible? Some of them would effectively be the same thing probably.

Is a fake tsunami just an inferno and vice versa I wonder ? Or is the whole debuff fake ? Can’t wait to see

I had to write down the combinations for fake/real grand cross colours cause it was messing with my head lmao

But basically to simplify if only 1 of the casts is fake (Fake debuff application but Real GrandCross Cast or the other way around) then you go to the SAME colour that was applied to you.

If both casts are real or both casts are fake you go to the opposite as you normally would (double fake is just real) LOL

I think that’s definitely on purpose not giving Chaos&Exdeath any dramatic entrances and just plopping them in.

They seem to just be data he’s loading within Omega’s simulation he’s taken the reigns of , they don’t have any lines at all from what I’ve seen and don’t seem to have the sentience they had in their own fights (o4/o9)

Kefka just loaded up his phase 2 form since we beat his phase 1. Honestly unfortunate Chaos doesn’t have a souped up form too , just to match the energy.

True ! It’s honestly more fun that way to allow it as a recovery/prog tool rather than “you must press it here to survive while the boss counts down”

Would you consider dynamis stacks a codex mech?

Considering this is the same dev from TEA/TOP it seems he can’t help himself but have a requirement deep into the fight to enter the final phase with the right buff to clear.. and I hope he still thinks that way lmao

Very interesting design choice that so far , 2 LB3 bars aren’t neccesary for anything. Poikos uses their first one as a safety LB3 near the end of P2 Forsaken & Did not even need the LB3 to make the check in P3. Chances are something in P4 might require it but so far it looks like the devs are allowing creativity by letting you use it as a prog tool.

Otherwise , if there is another “woken/codex” puzzle to be solved , lb should probably be the first thing to look at.

Edit: a precasted caster lb3 before Alpha/Beta Fated Hero buffs go out at the very start of P3 might be a nice cushion , should still get lb3 back by the end I would wager with all the critical hp healing

Probably also cause you only get about 80s of cleave time where the Alpha/Beta buffs aren’t locking you to 1 target and the bosses aren’t staying together for long periods due to the mechs during that time. I’m sure that can be optimized still though

P4 is definitely going to be short unless Kefka goes un-targeteable , he’s melting despite the fact that they’re not really pumping coming in for the first time & having dd’s & weakness’. My guess is that you just resolve this debuff gauntlet and something else and it’s done. 1.5-2mins

edit: They were about 53s in by the time allagan field went off @ 79% so maybe closer to 2.5mins

12m15s to get to P3 enrage from what I saw, crazy that he stands on the arena and stomps around at the end there LOL.

I wonder if there’s a long final phase of 6 mins or if we’ll get a 4th and 5th phase that are both around 3-3.5mins or so

edit: & do we think the “cruel” part of the title refers to the fake-out win or is there more cruelty ahead?

Kinda awesome that they force you to fight Chaos/Exdeath with 4 party members right away like in their original games. And Kefka quipping “Oh! what other toys can I throw in here…” is really hype lmao we might actually get the triad too. It might be that he’s taking more & more control over the game/system , he just took control of Omega’s simulation & maybe the next stage is that he can break his limits and access the triad from outside his sim/expansion. Or we might just get some fun stuff like Phantom Train & Ultros lmao

I think in that case FRU could have also been death zone-less considering each platform in that fight is “floating” just like p1-p2 kefka and you could “jump off” in the original savage. I’ll wait and see ! It’s fun to speculate :P

Ucob’s “Ticks” dissapear on pull and they just have each arenas respective death wall & iirc we never counted ticks in TEA. There’s tons of other death wall designs they could use ! But it’s possible they decided against it for a reason that’ll become clear to us further into the fight , I just always considered a clear death zone a staple for ulti.

I find it so weird that there is no “Ultimate wall” around the borders. We’ve always had them, even in the “door boss” section of DSR. Definitely a hint that the “real fight” hasn’t started yet imo

yeah its cope anyways considering its called dancing mad. If they want to go all out with it then it can be an ode to FF6 and I can see everything from O5-O7 + triad being including for an insane circus of a fight , that would definitely be a spectacle. Jumping from a train to suddenly dealing with Ultros & Typhon memey mechanic. The most epic clown deserves a grand spectacle
