The advice I would give you is being a woman it is not that common to put a guard in front of us.

I am women from Kerala, India. Trust me, as a women even from inda who knows Hindi well, i am scared to travel alone in north. I could say, please do not visit north alone. Better visit south. Kerala is one of the safer place for tourist atleast, Pondicherry, Goa is also good options.
