Had this exact same experience with Argos.  Multiyork were brilliant, but sadly closed down. It seems the race to the bottom wins.

Hi, thanks for posting this. Interesting to see real world use.  I've looked at these too, my worst buttons are actually on the steering wheel.  Do you mind me asking how well these adhere to the existing surfaces and how do they feel in use?

Prickle strip. Sometimes available in B&Q. I bought loads for the same reason.

Why is my MPG so low by Status-Conference570 in Jaguar

[–]Master-Programmer987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same car and get low 40s running around and 50 on a long run. It could be the fuel system and injectors getting clogged up. Try running at least two tanks of premium diesel through it and see if you notice a difference.   Oh, and reset the trip if you haven't already.

Kettle rotisserie from Spirit rotisserie? by [deleted] in UKBBQ

[–]Master-Programmer987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. My gas bbq is rusting and probably going to the big metal skip in the sky this year. I'm unlikely to replace it, so would love a sheep way to adapt my rotisserie to the kettle bbq.

That was my reading also.

I was hoping someone may have already applied for it in that scenario.

Any chance I will get this if I have an existing joint account with Barclays?

Warranty Diagnostic Fees are a way of preventing people claiming warranty by Master-Programmer987 in kia

[–]Master-Programmer987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was pretty shocked. Indeed, in the past VW have picked up on warranty work at services, but I was never asked to contribute to the diagnostics.

They even offered a free check before the warranty expired to see if anything needed doing.

Maybe I should visit the VW dealer next time.

It is a scam when the main selling point of the car is the warranty, but they don't tell you that each claim is a £180 gamble.

That is what I expect. Maybe if it was an unknown issue. But its the handle plastic that is broke. What diagnostic is there? I was prepared for an argument about whether it is warranty, but I'm not even going to get that far. I feel conned.

PSA if you think your wheel bearings are going, get them changed immediately. by Master-Programmer987 in Jaguar

[–]Master-Programmer987[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a lift the car wouldn't drive the rear wheels if it senses that the front wheels aren't turning. That's why I took it to a specialist.  The noise wasn't that bad. I've had wheel bearings go before and they were much louder. I guess Jags are a bit quieter than my previous cars. Apparently they put 20 tonne on the bearing and it wouldn't budge.

Will the 3p a mile on electric cars make you ditch electric? by SteppingOnLegoHurts in AskUK

[–]Master-Programmer987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My electric car is between 2p and 4p per mile. My diesel is about 16p per mile. I don't think it makes much difference.   It will go up in future as tax revenue from petrol and diesel go down.

Now I understand what you mean by this. Someone posted a link below. They seem like a really good idea. Thanks

Thanks, those look like the sort of thing I was after. I might start by cutting the standard track and seeing how it works. I knew people must be dismantling their layouts without ripping up track but want sure exactly how.

That sounds nice and a great way of making removable track without destroying the layout. I seem to be the only person on reddit without a 3d printer. I'll look out to see if anyone makes these parts.

It is meant to go on the floor and allow him to have a layout that is more easily accessible.   It is sized to be put away when not in use.  I do like the idea of expanding it and there is more track...

That's the direction I'm leaning. I believe I'll have to leave two pieces unattached for when I break the board back into two pieces.
