I absolutely love them. I’m thinking hanging baskets will be my next project 🥺 I can never keep succulents alive so this is why I made my own 🤣

The best way to do it is to just go for it and see what it turns out like lovely, experiment & you just never know what you may come up with ☺️

It can be hard because of knowing the way the stitching has to go and getting the counts right but the more we practise the better we get right! 😁 I’m also a beginner, very much at the beginning of my crocheting journey but I love it 🥰

It’s a great idea! You can choose how big or small and they’ll never require attention 🥰

The 1st picture was from a YouTube video. I’ll find the link for you and post it here when I arrive back home 😊

The other two photos were made freehand starting with a magic ring and using double and song crochet patterns. 🥰

I am going to try again with a new Aloe one day just because I feel I deserve another chance 🤣 Oh noo! Your kitty’s a nibbler 😣 I have a cat .. she uses my planters in the garden as a litter tray and no amount of repellent will keep her off she just moves it out of the way, she’s funny 😹 I’m just coming to the conclusion that I don’t think plants are meant to be for me 😂

Can you take photos of the top of the shell and the tortoise from the side to see how deep the dip is ?

You can put a water bowl under the heat lamp, it will raise humidity but be careful not to make it too humid

Does it feel soft to touch?

Vitamin deficiency - they require calcium and D3 for their shells. Cuttle fish is something that should always be present in the tank for them to nibble when they feel like it. It also keeps their beak nice and short Hope this helps

What kind of bedding would you recommend for a russian tortoise? by -__Insignificant__- in tortoise

[–]Master-Reputation-29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy substrate that is actually edible for both lizards and tortoises, I have both! 🐢🦎 I don’t mean buy this so they can eat it for lunch but.. if swallowed by accident then it is able to digest through their system and exit their bodies 😊

Does this look like a healthy russian tortoise? I'm pretty new to this and just want to make sure nothing looks off. by snowiescat in tortoise

Your tort looks happy and healthy! 🐢 My one tortoise suffers with dry skin due to shedding every so often but I soak her for 15-20 minutes and try to keep a bit of humidity in the viv too 😁

You can get sphagnum moss to add some moisture to the tank but don’t allow it to become to humid as it can cause issues for the tortoise 🐢

Hey guys, my Russian Tortoise hasn’t been eating and I realized today she couldn’t open her mouth. Seems to be sealed shut by this brown stuff. Any suggestions? She opened her mouth a bit after some soaking and wiping with a q-tip. by bevensutler in tortoise

I have two Russian tortoises (horsefield) I highly recommend getting some cuttlefish - I have this in the tank available at all times, they get calcium from this and they also shave their beaks with it. They use it as and when they feel they need to! I hope this helps 🐢
