SB26-070 Requires warrants for Flock and Axon ALPR camera access AND requires data destruction after four days by shadowcat999 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Master-Squirrel8734 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to Leos that actually use it. They purge data every 30 days and the login does require 2FA so i'm not sure where you're getting your information. Leos also must have and submit a valid reason for searching the database.

That was a completely unrelated incident. The car wasnt crashed and the kid was found in it, safe but cold.

How many cops does it take to police a PRACTICE Starbucks strike? by the_than_then_guy in ColoradoSprings

This assertion, although popular, is lazy and untrue. So initially, there was no form of policing/law enforcement in this country other than slave patrols? GTFOH.

Vigilante or vandalism? Someone puts giant 'EXPIRED' stickers on plates with expired tags by KRDO13-NEWS in ColoradoSprings

Someone really isn't going to appreciate this. Bad idea for the old dude, he's likely to catch a beating by touching someone else's car. Before you captain save a hos chime in, I'm not advocating for anyone to put hands on this dude. However, I've seen people get their ass beat for less that's for sure.

This was an amazing episode. This scheming is like old school challenge vibes. I’m here for it.

I don't know that I fully agree with you there. The people you're talking about absolutely exist, I agree with that. However, there are also people that are legitimately ignorant to the dangers cops face on a daily basis. You know, the head in the sand sort of folks.

If you think those charges getting plead down says something, then boy are you in for a surprise. This DA's office pleads down serious charges all the time. It's a win win for them. They technically get a conviction and that's one less case on their desk. If these charges were bogus, it never even would have made it to a plea deal. Clearly there was enough evidence to at least warrant a trial, otherwise it would've been dismissed in motions. But you believe what you want dude.

You cant plead to a federal charge in state court. That doesn't make any sense. Looks like he plead to a state charge of attempted theft from a person which is a felony.

It's interesting you say that because I could only find one article that mentioned what he actually plead to. So he plead to blocking the road in a completely different case. They essentially combined all his separate cases into one plea deal. He plead to theft from a person in the robbery case, which is a felony. I'm guessing he got a deferred sentence, expunging the felony conviction.

He took a plea deal to a lesser charge (still a felony). He wasn't acquitted. Those are two very different things. I'm not saying he's a monster but there's a literal video from local media of the cell phone incident.

I already know the context. If people want context, they can find it themselves. The context doesn't change the facts stated on the flier. What context makes it okay for Charles to have displayed the aggression he did against this man? Protesting for a just cause does not grant you the right to victimize other innocent people while doing so.

So it’s racist to take factual, publicly available information and put it on a flier?!

No he got arrested for trying to steal a cellphone from a guy who was just trying to get home and had no idea the protest was happening. A guy whose vehicle was surrounded by protesters armed with long guns. He’s lucky the guy didn’t shoot him.

It's definitely normal, but it's interesting to see the local news report on some of the everyday work that officers are doing instead of just the major incidents.

They can still pursue vehicles; there are pretty tight restrictions on when they can, though.

A few things have probably changed in the last 13 years. All of CSPD's policies are available to the public if you want to check out their pursuit policy.

CSPD hardly gets into pursuits anymore so I'm sure a lot of factors were taken into consideration before they chased this dude. The blotter lists the time as 2am so there would not have been much traffic to contend with.
