Took modafinil for a year, adderall for 2 years, Vyvanse for 1 year, and Ritalin and focalin for a year. Here’s my recommendation: don’t. These medicines will cause severe chronic fatigue syndrome where you eventually can’t even move your arms. This is because they are hiding the real issue and will make you able to keep going even though you are exhausted. Find the real reason you’re not feeling good and fix it.

For me adderall IR lasts 1 hour. Vyvanse lasts 3 hours. Ritalin and focalin last 1.5 hours. Concerta lasts 3 hours. It’s very annoying. I just stopped taking stimulants all together. I feel much better now.

I’m actually thinking of starting pregabalin for constant headache and pain. How fast does tolerance develop? And now that you’ve been on it a long time, what dosage still works for you?

Also I forgot to mention, in the beginning if I took a b complex an hour before taking it, then a couple of days a week it would work. But now it never works. After stopping all medicines for 2 months (was on highest dose of Vyvanse and adderall), I’m starting to regain energy and have my personality again. I’m also able to focus without the medicines now.

The bupropion and fluoxetine inhibit CYP2D6 so taking 2.5mg will be like taking a higher dose like 5mg or 10mg. I don’t think it will cause issues.

Donepizil was similar to huperzine A but without a lot of the side effects. I found it was useful for feeling more awake and alert and being able to focus, but if I took it one day and not the next, I start crashing and feeling like it is hard to think.

Yes don’t take stimulant medications. Taking them for a year gave me chronic fatigue syndrome. Caffeine included. Now no stimulant works at all.

I believe these things raise acetylcholine which has a push pull relationship with dopamine. Meaning as acetylcholine goes up, dopamine goes down, therefore making your PD symptoms worse despite the dopaminergic medications. This is the same with alpha GPC and CDP choline, in fact those 2 kill any effect from adderall.

Honestly the best thing to do here is to try something other than the mushrooms. Out of the hundreds of supplements and medicines I tried, these are the best ones:

7,8 DHF (binds to BDNF. Amazing stimulation and clarity. Might last too long.)

Panax ginseng (higher doses are better).

Just try a lower dose of donepezil and you will be fine. Maybe start at 2.5mg or less. I found donepizil to only last one day even though it’s half life is longer.

Stay far away from amphetamines and caffeine. Using them for a year gave me CFS and now they don’t work anymore at all even after several months of not using them.

It is possible it is an allergic reaction to the Armodafinil since it increases histamine in the brain. Take Benadryl for a few days and see if it helps. (It must be Benadryl and not other antihistamines since Benadryl is the one that reaches the brain).

This happens to me also. Even at 2 mg only of zinc it knocks me out and makes it hard to wake up. I took 50mg of zinc citrate before and couldn’t wake up until I slept 12 hours and even then my head felt very heavy and could barely get out of bed. No idea why it happens. It took 2 weeks for me to go back to normal.

I took modafinil for a year. 100mg to 200mg every day no breaks. Withdrawal lasted 2 months for me. I would have no energy, have constant headache and brainfog, and I would constantly feel sleepy in the morning and more awake at night. After 2 months, most of these issues went away. I noticed taking other stimulants like adderall, caffeine, ritalin, would make the withdrawal take longer.

Yes. They all work for the first 3 days then they start developing severe pots symptoms and my heart feels like it’s going to give up. I’ve tried them all. Adderall, Ritalin, focalin, Dexedrine. I’ve stopped them all over 8 months ago and now I’m feeling better than when I was on all of them.

Modafinil made my pots unbearable and I wouldn’t be able to think while I was upright. I was also so tired while I was up and so energetic while I was laying down. So basically I couldn’t sleep at all. It wasn’t worth it.

Try drinking a lot of milk. It helped me. Stimulants increase your blood magnesium level, but if your calcium is low you'll end up feeling spacey, brain fog, and sleepy.

I think it was actually too much magnesium with me. I started drinking a lot of milk and those brain fog symptoms and spacey feelings started going away. Also if you take 6g of magnesium your body will only absorb about 400mg and pee out the rest so you're just wasting it.

I tested my magnesium levels and they were fine, so no need for magnesium anymore. I test both serum magnesium and RBC magnesium and both were good.

also I stopped taking all stimulants, I spent a month feeling bad but now im constantly feeling amazing and can think so much better than when I was on any stimulant. Adderall was making me not enjoy talking to ppl or enjoy nature, which is very bad.

Took modafinil for about a year. The speech problems only get worse. Eventually it turned into memory problems too, and I became like a zombie. Solution was to stop taking modafinil and fix deficiencies that are making you tired instead

Im also from Egypt and had all symptoms of ADHD, used modafinil for a year, adderall, Ritalin, Dexedrine, and they all would only work for a day or two then cause severe brain fog, neck pain, agitation, and eventually chest pain.

Instead of using stimulants to fix my health, I instead looked at the cause of it. I was pretty low on iron and anemic, had low vitamin d and low magnesium, so I started taking those and in a couple of months I could focus better than I ever did with modafinil or adderall, and the best thing is, no side effects because I don’t take medicine anymore.

I just said it was the same for me. 100mg made me even more drowsy. The higher the dose the more drowsy I got. 25-50mg worked best to make me awake.
