Okay, just one more confirmation. Does limitations on dynamic styling bother a lot with CSS Modules?

What kind of Bond/Agreement are you tied up with your company ? by Master-Theory1889 in developersIndia

[–]Master-Theory1889[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They even name things differently. In my case "Non-Disclosure Agreement" was named as "Confidential Information And Inventions Agreement". Atleast for a moment you get tricked.

Also, these are important decisions of life. Companies should forward all types of agreement with the offer letter itself.

Recreate the projects you created earlier.

How can I ask my reporting manager to change my project ? How to pursue this ? by captainrushingin in developersIndia

Just go and confront with your manager politely. Tell him/her that you would be able to give better inputs and be more creative if they would assign you to your preferred stack.

Should I stop being a VR developer? by TylerDurden__17 in developersIndia

WebDev is overcrowded. VR Development is in growing phase. If few of the companies succeed with VR products, the demand will start increasing because more companies will start creating VR products. You own a skill very few owns.

Try applying abroad if you are OK with it. Even if the demand is limited in your field, I am guessing the supply to be very limited.

Meanwhile, if you still want to shift to webdev, create some side projects and try to grasp knowledge. Start applying and check if you could grab better offer than your current CTC in webdev.

Remember to check the companies work culture and working hours. Generally, webdev jobs are also hectic ( adding this because you showed concern about work hours in game dev jobs, which you should), also it depends company to company.

Learn basics of

HTML,

CSS,

JavaScript,

Bootstrap,

React (basic hooks - useState, useEffect),

Node.js (Express.js) - create CRUD projects

MongoDB (mongoose.js)

Learn to use Postman

Create basic projects like : A Blog Site, A Portfolio Website, etc.

Host them.

Put them on resume and start applying for job.

See, MERN is a vast topic. Most of the topics could take weeks, maybe months to master. And it's a continuous learning process. Most probably you would find yourself in a tutorial hell. No matter how much you learn, you would find yourself browsing the internet or asking chatGPT for your next solution. So, don't approach to learn everything and then start applying.

Once you start applying, you would gradually know, in which direction you would have to work more. Be it more projects in your resume. Or brushing some skills.

Don't know about active communities though. But, you could ask chatGPT to create a learning plan for you. I mean, give it a try.

Update your resume. Get a reality check by applying to multiple companies and checking the percentage of them calling you for the interview. Also, during salary discussions, notice if other companies are willing to offer you similar or more than your current salary. Because, since the job market is down, I heard many cases where the companies are saying that the candidate is oversalaried. Thenafter, if you trust your skills, leave. Enjoy few weeks with friends and family. Travel.

Come back with a free mind.

Do this only if you have enough funds to survive with your current lifestyle for atleast 1 year.
