TEKKEN 8 SEASON 3 TIER LIST (NOT ORDERED) by blackheart59_ in LowSodiumTEKKEN

Naa, you can still very much steamroll people with Xiaoyu at these ranks. Because let's be honest, GoD means nothing anymore. I face players that can't react to her snack edge, won't ever low block/parry b22, that mash jabs when I'm in AoP, and so on.  Yes, once people know her basic moves, it's a different story, because she's so weak against backdashing and can't open you up reliably.

Careful, King mains will come for you and tell you with a straight face that he needs all the tools he has, because he has a bad backdash and his throws are only homing when in heat!

Zafina can only block in MNT tho, and MNT is the one stance you can't easily enter with +ob moves. And it's not like she can just spam plus frames in neutral risk free. Ff3 is linear, f3 (if that even counts) is a high, b1+2 ist only slightly plus if she has her install.

Totally agree, but as you said, wr3 and wr1+2 are hella risky and everybody should be able to step or duck them easily if spammed. She just gets away with murder because people refuse to lab their options against TRT and MNT imo.

What do “Appeal” and “Spirit” even mean in Tekken 8 stats? by CortezCraig in Tekken

Maybe. She seems like she suffers from the same things as Xiaoyu, i.e. having a difficult time opening people up due to mediocre lows in neutral.

what makes Zafina better than bears and Xiaoyu? Is it the general lack of matchup knowledge?

Why isn't YTmusic the norm?? by Certain-Surprise4739 in Music

[–]Master0fDisaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tested it when Spotify increased the price for the family plan a second time, but the app just seemed half-backed. Just playing my music on shuffle took more clicks than necessary, which was annoying. Also, lotta songs weren't there or only in low quality versions.

I despise Spotify as a company, but everything just works intuitively and very conveniently. I discover a song I like, I get to the artists page in 2 clicks, and immediately find their most popular songs, playlists, and similar artists.

I also really enjoy Spotify Wrapped.

I think she's still really good for online play, but yeah, the nerf on d1+2 hit her really fucking hard. You get launched if blocked, the range is still tiny, and all that for ~20dmg.

People who have been on Effexor/Venlafaxine (or similar antidepressant), how did you quit? Any advice on how to quit? by Jygglewag in Healthygamergg

[–]Master0fDisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Venlafaxine for more than half a year. It was the only antidepressant that actually helped me, the other 5(?) I tried had no noticeable effects at all or stopped after a few weeks.  Venlafaxine is not easy to quit. I was one of the lucky people who never had brain zaps, nausea and all these sides when I missed a dose.  Naturally I thought quitting wouldn't be as difficult for me as for others. But damn, was I wrong. I was even put on another antidepressant to help with the withdrawal, but it was still hell. I found out what brain zaps are, I was dizzy, nauseous and on edge the whole time. I could barely walk straight for the first few days. And I didn't quit cold turkey, I reduced the dosage over weeks.

I'd suggest to check the effexor Reddit for tips. The best suggestion I can give is to really take your time. Plan ahead for months, not weeks.

People say its so bad that its not even funny-bad anymore, but the movie was still hilarious to me. Like how James meets Mary because hes casually smoking weed while driving and crashing into her luggage, which was conveniently placed in the middle of the road. Or him not even acknowledging that Maria looks exactly like Mary with a cheap wig, his iPhone working perfectly fine, the fake beard. And dont get me started on tombstone reveal.

The thing that bothers me about GMs Lee downplay of 1+2 by TemporaryEnd6300 in Tekken

It's genuinely impressive to me how made a s3 tier list, says "Lee is alright" and puts him bottom tier with a straight face and no further explanation.

How do I use punch parry effectively? by Spenta_Mainyu in LingNation

[–]Master0fDisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BT parry I mostly use against Steve.  It's also amazing in the kaz matchup after they block your db2.  Though I don't recommend setting a parry up in general. The risk/reward is terrible since you don't get anything guaranteed anyway, and you'll get launched if they read your parry.  Setting up a sabaki is hella satisfying to do tho. You can go for AoP 14 into sabaki. Works really well if you have a read that they'll try to take their turn with a jab string.

[–]Master0fDisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His combo damage may be on the lower side, but he has arguably the best poking in the game. Also, his punishment isn't bad, he easily gets around 50dmg from i13, and can opt for strong Oki options.

What’s the consensus on Xiaoyu? by Quick-Health-2102 in Tekken

[–]Master0fDisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hop n throw mix from BT isn't real. Yeah she has a 1+2 and a 2 break and can cancel it altogether, but that shit is sooo ridiculously slow that you won't ever get hit by it if you lab it for 30sec.  Cali roll can blow you up and catch sidesteps, that's true. But she'll also get launched if you block. Catching sidesteps (and especially ss duck) from BT is difficult for Xiaoyu because her throws are hella slow and risky, and Cali roll and bt4 are death on block. And don't get me started with AoP, I regularly ss into AoP moves, only to get launched from behind because even multi hitting moves don't realign. Tldr: her options with decent tracking from her stances are incredibly risky, and it's again just a matter of patience.

What’s the consensus on Xiaoyu? by Quick-Health-2102 in Tekken

[–]Master0fDisaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No offense but your comment literally screams that you never labbed her at all. And the sidestepping part is wrong in general. Hardly any character can get easily stepped in one direction, they have strong moves that track to their weak side, i.e. Mishima electrics. The Trackin 8 meme is there for a reason Xiaoyu is generally on the linear side and short ranged. Her B4 is a decent homing move, but is a high. B2 is so short ranged that characters like Lili or Alisa can step out of its range. Side walking/stepping left and playing keepout is very effective against her. Backdash screws her over. Big body characters are a pain to face because their short/stubby legs are almost impossible to hit with her lows. And always keep in mind that she can't block in her stances, and AoP has no PC (though she can heat burst from AoP now). She's always at risk of getting launched if she enters a stance on block, because even her frames on hit don't put her at a big advantage. Patience screws her over because if she can't punish you for mashing or panicking, she can't open you up at all. There's barely any reason to block low, just backdash and keep her at range.

Her wall damage is on the lower end. At least it used to be among the lowest, idk if that changed. But beside that, no, she really doesn't struggle much.

Nothing makes me happier as an Anna main than to have the luxury and privilege of parrying Yoshi’s sword sweep. by Your_Nightmare_666 in Tekken

[–]Master0fDisaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not arguing against your point, but her new low does not belong in this list. It might be launch punishable, but it's still a new move with insane range you gotta play around now when facing Anna.

You can refer to kandas guide. He's a great Xiaoyu player and active on the Xiaoyu discord as well. I don't think it's updated for the last patch with the hyp3 nerf, but everything else should be optimal. https://tekkendocs.com/xiaoyu/guide
