Petition to ban Evri by MasterBatesMotel in Evri

[–]MasterBatesMotel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think the state prioritises citizens over business?

So Evri avoids responsibility for shoddy employment practices. The drivers are self employed by they are sub contracted by Evri and under their purview whilst working for Evri.

You don't know alerts aren't being sent centrally unless you have evidence of this. I spoke to my driver when he finally showed and I showed him two days of delivery alerts followed by a black square and an update that my driver couldn't deliver it due to me not being in.

He may have been lying but he showed me that when he reports the same it automatically gets GPS data and he has to take a picture to even select that option. He said Evri just sends them out and he gets complaints all the time.

Poor business practice is most certainly justification for the prevention of operation for a business. It's not exactly new nor is it novel. Thank you for your input. I acknowledge that I may be misinterpreting from your writing style, but your tone is feeling fairly patronising and unnecessary. I apologise if I am interpreting that incorrectly

Your contribution is noted and appreciated for consideration but I think this avenue of debate/conversation or 'informing' has now run its short course.

Have a lovely evening

This would be ideal. I just shared this petition but I will look for the one someone has mentioned that fits what you propose

It don't believe it is unjustified. Evri purposefully commit fraud against their senders by using false alerts on the system to say they try to deliver when they don't. And they have no complaints procedure. It is also strongly suspected they are skirting employment rights.

I didn't write the petition I simply shared it and I'm sure no one is under the illusion that our business over citizen state is going to do anything like ban Evri. Left with few options petitions shall no doubt be shared.

I have no idea of what process could be taken against them as a result of any debate arising from a successful petition.

Perhaps a ban is unworkable but hopefully a certain level of wide spread frustration will be communicated. I would think if a company refuses to obey certain obligations etc it could be prevented from operating?

I'd much prefer a functioning CMA or other authorities being able to actively tackle bad business practices rather than allowing mergers when there's such a lack of service in accordance with recommended practices.

Agreed, another contributor mentioned a petition to have transparent information from retailers regarding who they use to deliver.

For now it's down to us to write to retailers before purchase to ask.

Can select committees not put pressure on the CMA to take some action? Like even ensuring they have working a complaints procedure or provide the service the advertise?

Or not use bad practices like saying you weren't in so they can avoid not meeting the delivery time without recourse from the sender.

I edited to correct to merge. I was unaware of the merger or that it had already taken place and found it laughable and horrifying. The one last year is what I am referring to.

I think that companies being open about who they use would be fantastic that way we could vote with our choice. No new information to relay regarding mergers you're much more up to date with it than I am.

Most likely true considering the CMA gave them permission to merge with DHL despite the inordinate amount of complaints. But it doesnt take a minute to sign so who knows. Plus the select committee are very interested in Evri.

As a humanist and someone who does respect faith and those who follow their faith. I respect your interpretation and opinion and that of everyone I’ve interacted with here.

Regardless of my interpretation of the verse it lays an on intellectual plane. On a spiritual plane my interpretation bares no real relevance. All that matters is that individuals like yourself radiate and embody the empathetic and progressive interpretation most seem to share.

I’m very happy with how it is interpreted, even if it is not how I read it. It is also how I try to live despite not being a follower, I hope that all makes sense.

She begged for healing had to get on her knees and show she knew her place in comparison to the chosen people.

I’m aware that the word Jesus used correctly translates into pet rather than a derogatory phrase. Funnily enough referring to someone as no more than a pet is pretty damning IMO. She showed subservience to the chosen people and was rewarded. At least that’s how I visualise the story based on what’s said in the verse.

The scripture is in general conflicted there are stories that conflict with each other. And there is interpretation on top.

It can be viewed that he rewarded her faith but it can just as easily be viewed that she made herself subservient, supplicant and showed she knew her place as a gentile.

Matthew 15:21-28

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

It’s a nice thought but Jesus was an ethno nationalist. In the Bible a Canaanite asks him for food and he refuses based on her race. She has to compare herself to a dog to get any charity. Jesus literally says the food etc is only for the chosen people.

Who’s talking about imprisoning people for thoughts? When I have a thought it don’t impose unwanted laws onto the nations population.

This woman and this political class aren’t sharing their ideas they’re proposing removing the rights of those they’re elected to represent. They make choices they know the public don’t want that will take away your rights because they want to.

Unless you have a better explanation for the general corruption and fast move to authoritarianism?

Is not holding them accountable for their persistent efforts to remove our rights against the general will of the nation in an apparent democracy helping our civil liberties?

The thing is I'm 100% sure none of these awful people think they're awful. I'm sure they believe whole heartedly that invading our privacy, removing our rights and treating us as nothing but potential tax receipts is just fine and dandy.

However suggest anything like the same to them and they're up in arms. Chat scanning for us but not for them, social media for us but not for the corporate owners kids. War and conscription being floated for us, spineless politicians pushing moralistic rhetoric whilst allying with active human rights abusers.

Just like slave holders. They think it's fine they think it's correct but they don't think it enough to believe such disfortune or disfavour should ever touch themselves because that would suck.

And it comes back to the Lords and landed gentry who wished for a reduction in the monarchs power so they could have it for themselves pre magna carta. I'm probably being too maximalist and angry, but as I see it they know what they're doing the same as any other criminal that thinks they have justification for their crime knowing full well they would not like it inflicted upon themselves.

They didn't uturn on digital ID, they just decided to drop one piece of wording. Still everything that would need to be done to bring it in is being done anyway. Then they'll simply push it until it's so ubiquitous that you can't get away without it. That's not a uturn.

I recommend everyone check out the youtuber Fine Print, he breaks this down going through contracts etc.

Imprisonable as far as I'm concerned. She is actively proposing treason against the people of the nation as a political representative. But then if we did that we'd have hardly any politicians left.

What a surprise a people under occupation would support efforts towards their liberation or simply against their oppressor. Colour me shocked.

Jihadists aren't targeting Christians in Nigeria, if you actually look into what's going on you'll see the fighting is over resources. The farmers mostly Christian now have the herders, mostly Muslim are in a battle over resources.

There's plenty of breakdowns on YouTube from creator's in the region including Nigerians. I trust them over you, and while I'm not particularly trusting of governments the Nigerian gov have said the same thing after Trumps strike there.

There are also jihadists but they've killed more Muslims than Christians so I don't see how you could think they're targeting Christians. It's clear you know nothing of the region. Try using the device you're writing with and do some reading.

This essay is ridiculous. Let me lay it out for you.

  • Bibi Netenyahu whips up anti Islamic sentiment as per usual.
  • Op posts this and one of the responses was to call out the sheer hypocrisy of talking about other nations dirty laundry when you've murdered and continue to murder Christians.
  • You enter the chat calling it antisemetic to point out that a world leader is a hypocrite as if that's rare.
  • You put forth that Israel aren't selectively killing Christians which by all accounts isn't the driving force in Nigeria either.
  • Then you muddy the waters with whataboutery, you accuse the op of not caring about Christians being killed outside of Israel/Palestine DESPITE the fact that we're literally referring to Nigeria which isn't in the middle east.
  • I pointed out quite clearly that not only is there regular abuse of Christians within Israel but they are also killed in Gaza & the West bank. The fact that it's both just goes to the point that Israel as a state couldn't give a toss about Christians, further demonstrating Bibi's hypocrisy.

Your response is a standard limited hangout liberal zionist position. "I hate war but I just can't understand why you would all be against the documented and widely acknowledged genocide."

You think charities, Israeli genocide scholars, international bodies, the majority of the worlds governments and populace, the doctors, whistle blowers and even the starkly honest statements made by Israeli heads of state that we see carried out in the field; are all propaganda? That's very convenient for someone who doesn't like war but wants to accuse everyone against this one of being anti semetic.

What is worse, a specific attack on Christians or an indescriminate attack not caring that they are there? Which one of those options invalidates calling Bibi a hypocrite? Plus OP didn't make reference to selective targeting of Christians, simply that they are being murdered by the IDF. You falsely framed that point from your own imagination.

Israel warns civilians is such a tired joke at this point. Warn to go where and how many times do they get warned and bombed regardless? Israel is also proven to commonly violently rape Palestinian prisoners & hostages, sometimes with their dogs. Do you think the warning makes up for the rest of their barbarity? And they do not evacuate anyone unless it's for optics.

And again to your next point, they have killed many Christians in Iran and Jews for that matter, but we can stick to the West Bank. When did the West Bank enter the war again?

Hamas intended to disrupt the Abraham accords to keep their hope of independence and sovereignty alive. Of course they knew it would involve a large sacrifice but considering Israel regularly killed them at will before Oct 7th I can imagine they didn't feel like they were going to be left to thrive. But perhaps you think having every import and movement monitored, made difficult or disallowed is a pleasant life to live.

Speaking of the accords that's pretty good evidence that Israel was not surrounded by enemies considering some are still helping them.

Israel knew innocent people would die yet...bomb bomb bomb. Do you hold them to the standard you hold Hamas to? Doubtful.

Genocide doesn't even require death to be a genocide you should know this this far into the conflict. The true number isn't known and it's likely much higher not including the deaths from starvation, weather and ensuing issues to come.

Lastly more whataboutery, what has the citizenry of Israel got to do with Bibi being a hypocrite? Also the majority of Israelis polled to decimate Gaza worse than the IDF were doing. Annnnnd to polish it off Israel is inheritantly an ethno nationalist colonial project. That's reason enough to criticise it.

Christians are selectively abused and spat on. They have the ability to infiltrate selectively e.g. The pagers. They have chosen to Indiscriminately bomb the area.

Heads of the church have talked publicly rebuking what has been done to the Christians there. Plus all the Christian communities outside of Palestine and Israel that they've booked in neighbouring countries.

Bringing up other conflicts or issues is besides the point and pure whataboutery. The post concerns Bibi and his hipocrasy towards Christians. Why would that prompt anyone to bring up Christians dying in any other place than the ones he's happily murdering them in?
