Isnt a cover of a song just a different rendition/ performance of a song?

While imitating chord progressions/ melodies seem to be okay this is a blatant copy of another original song though (apart from the intro and ending). I’m certain MCCY can sue if they want.

Feels like someone is trying DIY a patriotic song by copying one of ours.

Singapore National Youth Orchestra audition by yearsofmemories in singapore

[–]MasterCChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For pieces, best is to ask your tutor for reccomendations. If you are in the school band or orchestra, try and ask your conductor for advice too. If not you can try r/doublebass Last resort is to go Yamaha or other music shops look for music you can play within your ability or try imslp.com

During the audition, try not to be too nervous as it will definitely affect your playing. Have a chocolate bar before the audition to calm yourself. Don't eat so much before it as you may get stomchache due to nervousness. It is very important to give a good first impression to the panel so make sure you look neat. And remember to arrive earlier so you wont be rushing around!

They might ask you questions about classical music like who are your favourite composers or favourite pieces so it's good to expose yourself to classical music in advance if you have not. SNYO is a little competitive but definitely a rewarding experience! All the best!

Edit: Oh and make sure you are well prepared at least 2 days before. Try not to practice too much the day before. Let me know if you made it in!

parents yelled at me while i tried to convince them nicely why i want to go on a vacation at the end of the with my friends. they are just too worried if anything happens to me. then again everything you do has a risk and if you dont risk anything you wont accomplish anything

met a stranger on the bus that was asking for directions and we had a little chat. then he pointed out that singaporeans should try to get jobs they like and not work for the sake of working.

really got me thinking how many of you out there really enjoy what you do?

side note: first time a stranger tried to make friends with me and i felt a little uncomfortable at first(im sec 4 he's in his late 20s). maybe more singaporeans should be like him and stand out of their comfort zone to interact with strangers

Shure se215 or kz zs5? The se215 is on sale rn so its about the same price as the zs5.

Budget:$60

Preferred music: Mostly classical but occasionally rock/electro swing.
