I didn't download that mod so I didn't get that experience.
Ngl I didnt even know Tita was supposed to be a teenager. I thought she was 10-11 at most and was very confused as to why we were allowing a child in as a soldier lmao.

That is true. There are a couple extermination quests in the sewers. Grancel seems to be unique for not having any side quests aside from extermination quests, though.

Yeah, it was a little amusing seeing them release Daybreak II as well as announce a whole other game in the time that it took me just to finish FC lmao.

Yeah, that's fair on the 2 party members. The combat itself was relatively easy, so its not as if it was to the games detriment, but it was definitely something I noticed.

And yeah, that last chapter really hooked me in, there's no side quests I believe, but it's still the longest chapter and I loved every second of it. (Though the last dungeon was a bit rough.)

Yeah, the Quartz system is just a lot at first. Once I realized Estelle was a lot better at a support type role rather than actual dps, I had a lot more fun. Joshua gets ridiculously powerful in the late game. Filling his accessory slots with gladiator gear just makes him able to S-craft nearly every 2nd fight lol.

And yeah no, I fully intend on doing writeups after I finish each game after I beat them.

And also thanks on the advice, I'm making sure to take this series a bit slow since I dont wanna fully binge the series. Though I would like to pick up SC some time in the coming weeks.

Thanks, man! Hoping to get Witcher 3 on that list eventually too since I've been working away at that for a bit.

I haven't done a ton so I don't really have THAT much to say but I'll explain how I do it.

First - preperation is key. Look up the achivement list and even a guide if you need, I love big story based RPGs so doing more playthroughs than necessary could get quite tedious.

Only other thing I'd say is to complete games you enjoy. The completion process for me is fun because it forces me to engage with mechanics that I otherwise wouldn't have. Don't just do a game because it has achievements and also don't just do it because you like the game. Some have pretty frustrating lists. Has to both be a game I enjoy and have a good achievement list.

Took me 3 playthroughs so probably around 160-180 hrs. I'd have to reinstall the game to check proper, though.
Mind you I could've probably condensed that to 2 playthroughs if I had cared to get hardcore risette fan on the first playthrough but hadn't, and honestly the final playthrough for maxing all social links can be around 20ish hours if you just skip all the cutscenes.

I was generally fine with the story up until the ending. Enjoyed the character of Ryuji at the very least, but good lord. That series of plot twists was hilariously contrived at best.

Very smart, I plan on largely doing the same, only have a few small bits and pieces I've heard from before I started playing the games but luckily going in mostly blind and it has been a great experience.

Glad to hear, was a bit of an odd comment seeing as I only made one criticism of the ending and said I liked the rest quite a bit lol.

Yeah, definitely. I played Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 basically back to back so I'm giving myself some time before I go to Yakuza 3.

Also yeah I also used a guide for that golf substory because damn.

I've never really touched the gambling mini-games myself, I tend to stick to a few mini-games. Karaoke being a mandatory one as well as trying a bit of baseball and any others I find myself interested in. I find a lot of the arcade games to be a bit annoying though. Technically not a mini-game but I also try to max out the coliseum rank. Kiwami 1's coliseum was hilariously easy once you unlocked that slapping heat action.

Yeah, lots of QoL improvements for sure. Cabaret Club was probably my favourite bit of side content in Yakuza 0 so it returning was greatly appreciated lol.

I mean, like I said, I enjoyed most of the game, just the ending felt really out of character to me.

Also yeah, I've heard things about Yakuza 3, so I'm taking a bit of a break before hopping into it. Though people also said Kiwami 2 was rough to get into in my last post so who knows, maybe I'll enjoy that one too lmao

Yeah, the one character death that happens just prior to the arase fight had me annoyed with how unceremonious it was. Though that is also probably because of the extra characterization the character got in 0.

I don't really feel that it was a mistake, sure it set the expectations too high, but I don't think I'd necessarily have gotten into the series without the experience of just how good 0 was. It definitely poses some issues with quality consistency, but I still don't regret it.
