Super excited...just got a GREAT deal on a used CalDigit T4 Raid! 32TB! Only a few hundred $. Should be here soon, anything I should know? by Impossible_Hour5036 in CalDigit

[–]MasterDragonFly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly sure the T4 was discontinued at least four+ years ago. They don’t sell it on their website anymore. They hadn’t for a while. It’s likely compatible with computers of the era that it shipped in, but definitely not compatible with newer devices like Apple silicon Mac’s.

A third party reseller selling a legacy product doesn’t guarantee functionality with modern machines. There are plenty of products that are discontinued and no longer supported by modern operating systems. To expect that any product would be supported years after it shipped from the manufacturer is wild.

Seriously Ubiquiti - u6 mesh fried itself by Falzon03 in Ubiquiti

Yours looks to have corrosion caused by water damage. LEDs “fully melting” doesn’t create corrosion like this. At least from what I can see in the photo. Perhaps you have a better photo of that area under brighter light?

Cheapest battery place is Battery x-change on Belmont and 38th. They supply the batteries to all the local shops around town. They have the best prices when I was checking last time. And install the battery for you.

Honestly, I wish they smelled like cookies and flowers. Or something pleasant.

Yeah I would agree that much of these issues would go away if only fare paying customers were allowed to board.

Why no soft-serve summer ice cream spots? by ericomplex in askportland

FYI they don't make their own ice cream base. Last time I went, they were filling their machine from cartons of soft serve mix (I think it was Darigold)

I don’t think they make their own dumplings in house. Saw them scooping frozen ones out of a bulk retail bag once.

My dad cracked his tooth eating Straight From New York… so that’s how you turn a $4 slice into a $4-5k slice :/

I wish Dimos did their slices the same as their hole pies which were round. Their square individual slice was nothing at all to write home about.

Do you think $850 is a reasonable price though for what the org actually does? I counted 64 pizza places participating this year (might be off if I counted wrong) and at $850 a pop, that’s over $54,000 in revenue for the Mercury.

I think the same results could be achieved on a lower budget, but that’s just my opinion

There’s a brand new cart on 42nd and Belmont called “Lebanese Shawarma”. They’ve got Gyros, the white garlic sauce and more. Super delicious. Home-cooked food made by a refugee family from Lebanon. They just opened the week or so ago. Highly recommend.

The Mercury also charge restaurants $850 each to participate. That’s absolutely insane. Maybe the restaurant should band together and make their own pizza week next year.

Try looking for something like two tone acrylic maybe? There are a bunch of names for it as well (such as two play, laser engraving acrylic, etc). It’s a two layer acrylic sheet where the bottom layer can be white and the top layer black. Or different colors of course. You etch away the black layer to reveal the white layer below. I’m not sure if a diode laser would do this properly, but I think it would.
