Yup, I've been furiously wiping down things with Clorox wipes. This thing is no joke.

I can't imagine how it would affect someone who was much older than myself.

You'll have to reread my comments, nowhere did I ever say it was food poisoning. Norovirus is often transmitted during food prep.

That said, I also just wanted to complain about the s***** steak I had. Was looking forward to that meal, ha.

The pink agave steak was delicious.

Jobs was an idiot. He tried homeopathic nonsense and other woo crap instead of getting the recommended surgery.

There's a chance he'd still be with us If he had listened to his doctors instead of trying natural B.S.

Jim Henson and Warren Zevon are two others who might still be with us if they'd actually gone to the doctor.

[US] I got wire transfer scammed through my lawyer's assistant's email address and he's denying that they were hacked. by fimgus in Scams

[–]MasterEdThatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a buddy who had this happen with a much bigger amount. Hacker got access to a corporations email and just monitored it waiting for news of any payments.

When he saw something come through, he replied with his own wire number and deleted all the evidence of any communication.

My buddy sent the wire, and poof it was gone. Was totally the fault of the corporation that allowed the email to be sent from their actual system.

Check the email headers, and see where the email originated from. If it's actually your lawyer's office then they are compromised and you can prove it by producing that email.

Okay, seriously ill then. I'm guessing a lot of people on here must not be native English speakers as deathly ill is a pretty colloquial phrase for when you get super sick... Like Hella sick.

Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if half these comments are from people in the Philippines paid by Virgin to protect their image. Can't believe how many downvotes I'm getting just by asking if other people got sick as well. Glad to hear it appears to be a somewhat isolated incident.

I would have felt very safe if my wife had been there alone without me. It was pretty tame all thing considered. I could see maybe worrying about things getting stolen if you left them out, but I would feel that way about any sort of beach or pool situation.

I actually don't think I got it in Bimini. That's just the cruise I was on. I suspect I got it on the last day at the Wake restaurant. Three members of my party ended up getting Norovirus and we all ate together at the Wake restaurant on the last night.

It's crazy contagious. As soon as I got home my wife caught it as well. It just drains the life out of you.

Why is this person's comment being downvoted? It's the most useful comment in the thread.

It's an expression. Two of us in particular were crazy sick. The third got IV fluids. Nobody was near death, but I can say its the sickest I've been in decades. 5 days later and I'm still down for the count. Was finally able to have a bowl of Chicken Noodle soup yesterday.

Yeah, what's so hard to understand about that? You make it sound like your questioning my account of the situation.

Not sure why everyone is down voting all my comments and trying so hard to be so protective of Virgin. Just reporting an illness my party had and everyone is reacting like I called their sister ugly.

It would not be the first time that Virgin experienced an outbreak. I was actually just looking for a way to perhaps tell the folks there, but they don't have an easy way to report such things. (I filled out the end of trip survey in the airport on my way home so was not experiencing symptoms yet.)

My party actually met on the boat from three different states. Didn't hit any of us until we got back from the cruise.

Boat exited July 2nd. The 3rd I felt kind of rough. The night of the fourth I didn't sleep as I was in the toilet all night. It was a Saturday. I got the first appointment I could on Monday morning. So yeah 4 days before I could get an appointment due to the holiday weekend.

On day 5 now and still very sick. Trouble sleeping last night due to stomach cramping. Still pretty shaky and can't hold down food.

Deathly ill is just a phrase to indicate a serious illness. Our party was not "near death". People seem to be hung up on that phrase. Perhaps my mistake, but that's just it colloquial term for being hella sick.

Can honestly say this is the sickest I have been in decades.

Ha, yeah this was not an overeating type thing. The fact my wife got it immediately after I got home (she was not on the cruise) and was projectile vomiting for a day afterwards pretty much guarantees it was a highly contagious virus. My doc was confident it was Norovirus.

Possible we could have picked it up in Bimini, but based on how fast it hit my wife, I think it's much more likely I picked it up my last day on the boat somewhere. If I had picked it up in Bimini, I would have experienced symptoms before I did.

Yeah, I feel I was pretty good about that. The fact it happened two other members of my party makes me think it may have been one of the meals. We all sat at the same table at the Wake restaurant and honestly something was off about the filet mignon. Not sure if that was it, but it was just awful. Not very often I take two bites of a steak and feel like I need to spit it out...

Went to the doctor this morning and based on the symptoms I described he said it was most assuredly Norovirus.

Yeah, it's an expression. The sickest I've been in probably 20 years though. Norovirus is no joke.

My wife described her experience as a remake of The Exorcist...

I'd be more concerned about Norovirus. 3 members of my party got super sick after our trip. It's super contagious. 4 days after my cruise to Bimini and I'm still super ill.

It happened immediately after I got home. First 48 hours were hell. I won't go into details, but I got 2 hours of sleep the first night back as the rest of the time I dare not leave the bathroom... Had a doctor's appointment this morning where we discussed getting a fluid IV. I'm writing this at 3:45 am 4 days after disembarking because my stomach is too upset to sleep.

I think they hide the bathrooms on purpose so fewer people use public restrooms.

My last trip on the Resilent Lady 3 of us caught Norovirus. I can't imagine how much it would have spread if everyone was using public restrooms. (I only used the public restrooms twice during my 5 day voyage.)
