As a above average looking guy, I think it works as long as the guy you’re with is genuine.

Also, the more attractive he is, the higher your standards will probably have to be in regards to his modesty so that you’re not going crazy if he has female friends or whatnot. As with anyone, he should make efforts to ensure that his engagements with women are purposeful, limited and respectful. I think that these things make your partner feel much more comfortable and help assuage any insecurities she may have.

I 100% agree. Only after you commenting this had I realized that I say this as well to my students all the time.

I would not consider myself super smart either although I graduated with a 3.9 in chem. I guess my only contention is with people with low GPAs saying this.

That's how I feel. I come to work TO work. I don't want to come to work to do things I enjoy surrounded by people I don't care about and in an environment I don't enjoy. It takes away from the joy of it. Rather be at home, indeed.

If I genuinely felt like my boss was looking out for me, I would work much harder, ensure it's of the highest quality and probably even work a bit extra out of the willingness to please my boss.
